Deep scan freezes my computer.
Most days, while Counterspy is doing a deep scan everything stalls. I can't open counterspy, can't open a browser, can't start any program. Other programs that should be running in the background are stalling also. Since upgrading to V3, I have to restart my computer after a scan to get access back to my computer. Should a scan really take from 300 to 800 minutes?

Inappropriate?Thank you for posting,
Under the Scan Options, try unckecking "Enable rootkit detection" for every type of scan, then run a scan again. Let me know the result.

Inappropriate? It is scanning now with your suggested changes....has been for 129 minutes or so with 238 to go. (Is this a normal length of time?)
Currently I can open a browser, but not the one program that I have asked Counterspy to ignore - Spectorpro. It quits recording at some point when a scan starts. It works again when the computer is restarted. I also hate the way it is blatantly listed as an program in the Always Allowed. I wish it could be hidden. -
Inappropriate? It's hard to tell at this point. Is everything still stalling when running a scan? You should be able to get to the different sections of CounterSpy while it's scanning. If its still bogging everything down, send us a copy of your System Information at support@sunbelt-software.com. Reference ticket number, 001-00-240724.
System Information:
Please go to Start/Run and type in winmsd. Click Ok. Now go to the File Menu and choose Save. Save this export to your desktop and call it system information. Once it is done, please attach this file to your email.
