Inappropriate? It's a normal glitch that the progress bar vanishes. I've contacted support in the past, and rest assure the file is still being downloaded (the definitions can be huge if you just installed the program). Can take up to an hour, so if nothing happens after that, you should email or call customer service to have the definitions file sent to you. You can just manually download the file and place it in the appropriate folder.

Inappropriate?Thank you for your prompt reply.Definitions downloaded OK, took 41 minutes.
Blue progress bar disappeared as reported initially, guess the file from version 699 to 836 was rather large. Thanks again
I’m Thankful

Inappropriate?CS is the slowest in terms of definition downloads (esp. when u reinstall the current version and have to start from 699 --> xxx), but rest assure that downloads will be quicker from now on (usually 4-5 a week) and the program is absolutely wonderful.
It has excellent active protection (this is why i switched from other name brand software), and the detection rates are decent (low false positives too!)
Have a great weekend.

Inappropriate?I apologize for the update problems that you have experienced. To correct this please complete the following steps.
-First clear out your temporary internet files. Do this by opening the internet explorer, Click on the word "tools" then "Internet options"
When this window opens, choose delete files.
- Right click on the CounterSpy icon in the service tray (down by the time on your desktop) and choose “Shutdown CounterSpy”
- Download the latest definition file from the following link. When asked to “run or save”, choose save and save the file to your desktop.
http://www.sunbelt-software.com/ihs/c...
- Double click on the downloaded file to update the definitions
- Restart CounterSpy by clicking on Start/All Programs/Sunbelt software/CounterSpy
The definitions should now be up to date.
If you continue to have trouble updating, please let me know.
Warm Regards,
