Inappropriate?Hi Mate,
Unfortunately there's no option to currently turn the alerts off. We are actually implementing this in the next release, which is due to be out very shortly. We apologize for any inconveniences.
If you have any further questions or concerns please also feel free to contact our support team at support@sunbelt-software.com or by Phone at 1-877-673-1153 M-F 9am-6pm EST and we can have someone work directly with you. Please reference ticket id 001-00-247802
Thanks,
~Tim -
Inappropriate?I'm not sure if this is the same thing as a Vipre behavior that I find really annoying - namely, if my computer is not connected to the Internet when Vipre tries to update virus definitions, it creates an error entry in the log. Fine. However, when I start up my computer later I have the green error V sitting in my tray and I have to start the console to clear it. Every single time so far, it has been to tell me that it could not update virus definitions the last time it checked. I don't care. It should notice that I'm on the Internet now, update the definitions and shut up.
There should be some way of configuring it so that I could say, check for new definitions every 24 hours, but only throw an error message if it has been more than 48 hours since it was able to update.
I really don't like nagware - it tends to get flushed off of my computer pretty quickly and it would be a shame to have to do that here as this is a decent program.

Inappropriate?Thank you Tim.
Is it possible to include this in next relese too? :)

Cause, VIPRE is slowing down the program, even it is in Always allowed list.
cheers, -
Inappropriate?I have to agree wholeheartedly with Mate. The balloon notifications are very annoying, especially considering all it's usually doing is telling me everything's okay. Glad to hear from Tim that in the next release this will be taken care of.
Just as important to my wants is the suggestion by insboswiz to have VIPRE stop displaying the missed definition update icon. I think 48 hours should be the minimum time *before* any alert of this nature is displayed, not every single time it's missed. I'm with insboswiz when it comes to my feelings about nagware, too. VIPRE bugs/nags/annoys/alerts me more than every other software loaded on my PC put together!
I have honestly been thinking about what antivirus product I want to switch to when my VIPRE subscription expires, and I just purchased VIPRE less than 1 month ago. That's how annoying I find the nagging nature of this product. Even though I think VIPRE is fantastic at what its designed to do, if something isn't done about the constant interruptions coded into it I think you'll be losing a lot of customers.
Security software like this should be practically invisible unless and until a problem arises. As it is now VIPRE is anything but invisible, but I have high hopes that the good folks at Sunbelt will listen as they've a great track record for customer service.
