Firewall slows down my internet speed.
I installed the firewall on 2 computers, an HP Notebook and a Dell 2400. On the Notebook it works fine but on my Dell which I keep in good condition with plenty of ram, it slows down my internet speed. My normal download speed is about 6100 kbps. With the firewall running it drops all the way down to 3400 kbps. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that didn't fix. So I uninstalled it.

Inappropriate?Hi jtx472,
I apologize for the inconveniences.
1. Open up Sunbelt Personal Firewall.
2. Click the "Web" button the left.
3. Click the "Enable web filtering" checkbox so that no check is in it, then click OK.
Let's see if that speeds things up.
If you any further problems please feel free to contact our support team at support@sunbelt-software.com or by Phone at 1-877-673-1153 M-F 9am-6pm EST and we will have someone work directly with you.
Thanks,
~Tim -
Yes, that did the trick. 6136 kbps download, Thanks Tim -
Inappropriate?I also have same problem. I have had the Sunbelt firewall on my machine for over a year. I had no problems until I received the newest upgrade Jan20th ( I purchased a two year license Nov 07) I deselected enable web filtering and removed and reinstalled newest version firewall. My configuration did not change and the problem still remains. I will go back to the older version. You had a great firewall prior to the upgrade. I am guessing there might be something wrong with the newest version. I am running a AMD Semperon 3000+ w/ 1.5 GB ram.

Inappropriate?Hey John,
I apologize for the inconveniences. We will be more than happy to troubleshoot the issues you're experiencing with the latest version of SPF. What we'll need to do is reinstall version 4.6.1861. Afterward, we'll need to grab some log files. Please follow the instructions below.

2. Then under overview select preferences, then export
3. A window will popup, select the logs folder, then at the bottom of the window to the right of file name type in spf4, and hit save.
4. Next run the utility below, if you get any warnings about Windows Scripting or a Zip program you will need to allow them in order to successfully use this utility.
5. Once the utility is finished it will place a zip file on your desktop. You will also need to enter in your ticket id which is: 001-00-265647
