Firewall was not free!!
I am getting the "you are using the free version" message, yet I purchased in May and have a valid license key. This started a day or two ago. I am blocked from certain configuration options.

Inappropriate?Hello Robert, thank you for your post. Please make sure you have entered your Registration key into the Firewall to fully activate into your paid subscription by following the instructions below:
Double-click the purple shield icon down by your clock
Click on the OverView Tab
Click on the License tab which is near the top of the screen
Click the Register button
Follow the instructions to register.
Put the registration key into the box with ALL CAPITAL LETTERS AND HYPHENS, just as you see it.
NOTE: Do not use accented characters.
If this does not remedy the "you are using the free version" message, please call me at 800-336-3166 and I will be happy to further assist you. -
Inappropriate?I too am getting this message. The program shows my registration is good until 2/2010. The only thing different was restore my system using Acronis. The computer is the same computer. ANyone know why now, the Personal Firewall is saying this?

Inappropriate?CaptKirk,
This may have something to do with doing the restore of your system. I'd suggest first just entering your activation key again to see if this solves the problem. To do this, open the firewall. Click Overview on the left then then License tab on the top right. Click Register if it's available or click Change License ID. Go through the wizard and see if this solves the problem.
If you're still getting this message then I'd suggest just doing a complete uninstall/reinstall of the firewall to see if this solves the problem.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance. -
Hi Nick. Actually, I found your 'clean' uninstall product, spfclean, through following these threads and reinstalled SPF and that did the trick. I know that sometimes recovery programs can cause software to 'count' installs. Trust me. I go through this with Microsoft all the time as I frequently recovery my system as a matter of protocol.
Thank you for your assistance, SPF seems to be fully functional now.
