How do I get rid of Antivirus Plus?
One of my PC running XP SP3 is infected withv"Antivirus Plus". I scanned (deep) with Vipre and several instances were removed. However, Antivirus Plus keeps popping up windows that the PC is infected. And, Vipre does not find Antivirus Plus any more.

It'd be best if you contacted us directly by sending an email to support@sunbeltsoftware.com so we can get some diagnostics and logs from you. We can then see what VIPRE may have missed on the system and help you remove any remaining traces from your system. We'll also use the information we gather from this process to include these traces in future definitions updates to allow VIPRE to completely remove this threat in the future. -

Have you tried running a deep scan in Safe Mode?
Before you run the scan in safe mode please make sure you are up to date with the latest definitions of Vipre. (5058) If you are unable to even update you can copy and paste this link into your internet browser to manually update to the most recent definitions. There are a set of instructions on this web page that guides you through this procedure.

You can get into safe mode by restarting your computer; during boot up start tapping the F8 key until you get to a screen that gives you the options to choose different types of safe modes. Please choose the regular "safe mode" option and run a deep scan with Vipre.
If for some reason you are still unable to remove the threat from your computer after doing a couple of safe mode and normal mode deep scans then feel free to call our Customer Technical Support Center at 877-673-1153

If the safe mode scan doesn't work to rid your computer of this threat, please refer to support ticket number 001-00-279926 when contacting us.
We'll have you pull some information from the computer and we'll see what we can do to help you remove this from the machine.
