I HateSpam V5 for Outlook opens explorer window at Startup....when Vipre is set to load at Startup.
When starting Windows XP SP3 with I hateSpam V5 installed and Vipre, an Explorer window opens up to c:\program files\sunbelt\ showing the ihatespam folder in the window. Vipre fails to load when this happens but can be manually started with no issues.
The problem goes away if I remove vipre startup using msconfig. Both applications otherwise work perfectly as expected.

Inappropriate?HI David,
Sorry to hear you are still having the trouble. This problem is caused by IHateSpam V5 installing in a folder named Sunbelt instead of Sunbelt Software. Windows tries to launch VIPRE folder the wrong folder.
We have corrected this in the latest version of IHateSpam V5. Doing a clean install should correct the problem.
Uninstall IHateSpam through the add/remove programs utility in the computers control panel.
Then click on start/My computer and navigate to and delete the following directory:
c:\program files\Sunbelt
Then reinstall IHateSpam from the following link:
http://go.sunbeltsoftware.com/?linkid...
Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Inappropriate?For Mike Williams:
Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou Mike!
I have been going nuts with this happening for over 2 weeks now. I didn't check back earlier because I was in contact nightly (very late nightly - I live in the UK) with one of your Support Reps. He is a nice guy and very patient with me, making lots of suggestions (without success). So no names, no pack drill, to save any embarrasement. I'll email him quietly.
I am indebted to you - have a great Xmas and a very good New Year.
Warm Regards
David

Inappropriate? It worked for me, too. However, I was wondering what the purpose is of opening Explorer to the Paretologic/Privacy Controls folder when you reboot?

Inappropriate?Hello Allen, Thank you for posting the question.
We have only seen cases where it opens the Sunbelt folder, This was caused by now the directory was referenced in the registry. Causing windows to open the wrong file when starting up.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Peter -

Any idea how I can get rid of it? It has done it since day 1.
