local security authority process trying to connect to internet
While trying to get my xbox 360 to access media on my Vista pc with media center extender, SBPF was popping up the notice that local security authority process was trying to access the internet, at a number of different ip addresses. I did a whois lookup of the ip numbers, and they all belong to Level 3 Communications, Inc..
I have never seen this process trying to access the internet before, and I never heard of Level 3 Communications, Inc.. I looked them up with google, and they seem to be a company that sells various data delivery services. Does anyone know if it is safe to allow these connections to be made?
Note: while my xbox was able to connect to my pc a while ago, before I installed SBPF, it can't do so any more.

Inappropriate?I am not sure what its trying to connect out to. But to make sure the 360 can connect out correctly you will need to enable gateway mode, to do this open the firewall, click on the network security tab, then the advanced tab, and check "enable gateway mode"

Why would I need to enable gateway mode on the pc, when the X-Box is connected to a router, and it is already able to connect to the internet to download updates and media?
My question was in regard to the previously unseen attempts by a system service on my pc to connect to addresses on the internet, and whether these could be related to enabling media sharing on my pc.
Thanks for your response. -
Inappropriate?Im sorry it seemed like you were trying to connect the xbox thru the computer to the internet. You didnt mention the router in the previous post. I did a little googling, and according to wikipedia, "The company operates one of the largest communications and Internet backbones in the world" so the information may just have to take that path to its location.
