Outlook experienced a serious problem with the 'sunbelt software outlook antivirus object' add-in
For the last few months my pc has some major issues with locking up, apps not responding etc, I can't close outlook, trying to load any app results in another lockup, ctrl-alt-delete gives:
logon process has failed to create the security options dialog.
can't shut down or restart so have to hard power off the pc... Had this for months, have reinstalled Vista many times, have been cursing Dell for building crap computers.. except today I decided to leave it on, and eventually after about an hour outlook pops up a message:
"Outlook experienced a serious problem with the 'sunbelt software outlook antivirus object' add-in"
and then vista throws this message:
"Sunbelt Software Anti Malware Service stopped working and was closed"
and then the pc comes back to life.. I have disable email protection for now, but this needs fixing.
PC is a Core2extreme Quad 3.6, 4gig ram, running Vista Ultimate 32bit (dual boot to 64bit has never had the issue)
Pleae help, I don't want to go back to Mcafee ;-)

Once you find out which addon is causing the problem then you can turn all of them back on except for the one with the issue. A common add-on that causes issues is iTunes.

Inappropriate?I disable all addins including iTunes, and I continue to get the Windows lockups and then windows closes Vipre and tells me:
This problem was caused by VIPRE 3.1 Beta 6, which was created by Sunbelt Software.
I don't think I am running 3.1 beta 6 as I have installed the latest updates???
I’m fed up with Vipre!

Inappropriate?I have sent the email so will see what happens..
Now having trouble on my other machines, my server and laptop both have the red icon....
The company I work for use Vipre based on my recommendation. They are now evaluating other products because recently they are having too many problems.
I think I have had enough now. Vipre used to be good but recently it has gone down hill, I just want to get my money back and spend it on something that will not result in my wasting hours of my time :-(
I’m sad

The add-on is not supposed to be there if your email is POP3. Disable the add-in and you are still protected. The add-on is for Exchange and it is looking for an Exchange server. We had this happen on 5 PCs at 2 different offices and all of them were POP email clients. -
Inappropriate?Open up a command prompt and type this. It fixed my problems.
regsvr32 -u "C:\program files\sunbelt software\sbeagent\sbamoutlook.dll"
