Scans (Deep & Quick) Cause System To Freeze
This problem seems to have started last Friday (10/10).
When ever I try to run a Scan (Deep or Quick) my System Freezes. I am running Vista Home Basic as my operating system.
Both Scans run about 35 - 40 Seconds and appear to Freeze when Scanning RootKits: 0,C:\windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe
I also run TuneUp 2007 Software on my computer. Before I tried the scans today I ran the following TuneUp 2007 Utilitiles:
Disk Cleaner
Disk Doctor
Registry Cleaner
Registry Defrag
I received the same result - Scan Froze when process the above file.
I would appreciate any help you can offer. Would it be possible to run the scans with a Diagnostic Running in the background and then forward file to Sunbelt Support ??
Thanks,
Lou Belcolore

Inappropriate?1. Please open up VIPRE
2. Click file and then settings.
3. Please click on Scan Options.
4. Please find the scan setting labeled Enable rootkit detection.
5. Under quick, Deep system and custom, please uncheck the boxes next to this setting.
6. Once this is done, please click ok at the bottom of the VIPRE interface.
You should now be able to run a scan with out VIPRE freezing when scanning rootkits. We are working on upgrading the VIPRE engine so that in future builds, it will not hang when scanning for rootkits.
