Sunbelt Personal Firewall & Startup
Hi, I've used the free version of this firewall for 4 years (before as Kerio and now as Sunbelt) without problems, but now after updating my SPF to version 4.6.1861 it doesnt load at the startup, in the "task manager windows" I find "SbPFLnch.exe" as process and I have SPF in the services as automating but it's not running, I have to launch the program manually.
I've tried to uninstall, cleaning register and the re-install without success.
One last thing , I have Win XP Pro SP3.
Thanks for your help.

Inappropriate?Hello Pikei, make sure that your other security software is not stopping it from running on start up, Since this is a new version, the program might not recognize that you already had allowed it before.
Let us know if you continue to have problems. -
Inappropriate?Hello Peterh, many thanks for your reply.
I've exeminated the startup list (O4 autoloading programs) and the .exe for the firewall is non included, but after having checked I cant imagine what other security software could stop SPF from running. I dont know if I can post here the list of the other software installed, please remove it if this is forbidden: AVG antivirus 8.0, spybot 1.6.0, adaware 2007.
Is there a known incompatibility with other software ?
Can you suggest me a way to check it out ?
Thanks again. -
Inappropriate?Hello again pikei, There might be start up monitors in some of those other applications, they look at what programs are running on start up, you might need to check inside each that either that option is disabled, or verify its allowing Sunbelt personal firewall to start up.

Inappropriate?hello, after a "testing" week end I continue to have the same problems, this is what I've done:
- uninstalling SPF and all other security software, including AVG antivirus
- cleaning system registry
- several scanning for threats/malware & c. (all negative)
- restoring Win XP firewall
- installing only SPF 4.6.1861
I have the same problems, including the fact that Sunbelt Personal Firewall hasn't automatically disabled the Windows Firewall.
My questions: any incompatibility with Win XP ? a problem only for the free version ? and last, is it only a my problem ?
It's really fustrating and at this point, after 4 years, probably it's time to choose another firewall.
Is there something else I can do/check/test before changing ?
Thanks again. -
Inappropriate?Pikei, One work around you can use is to copy the start firewall from the Personal Firewall folder in the start menu, to the start up folder, this should force it to run that once the machine starts.
