    Thank you for posting.
Please check and make sure your firewall is not blocking it from connecting to the internet.
Lets disable your firewall and click on Update Now in the main Overview Tab of Counterspy.

Please try and ping our update server Start Menu>Run> Type CMD>Type Updates.sunbeltsoftware.com
Please make sure its returning the ip address 64.128.133.140

If you are not connecting to our server, or if its showing a different IP address then there is something else on the machine that is re-directing traffic, either a threat, or another security program.

Please open Counterspy by double clicking the icon in the Tray at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Go to File>Settings>Updates tab make sure that Allow Automatic Internet Access is Checked.
Also under the Power Tab in settings please make sure the Wake Computer When Connecting for Updates is Checked> Hit Apply and OK
Sometimes a threat on the machine can block the connection if this is the case updating the defs from the link below will get the program up to date. It is then recommended to reboot the computer and tap the F8 key> Select Safe Mode and run a full Deep Scan to remove any threats. It will then be safe to restart the computer into normal mode.
    Manual Definition Link.
