Vipre (3.1.2710) scanner chokes on 2GB+ Folio Infobase (.NFO) file.
Deep scan stalls on 2GB+ NFO (Folio Infobase) data file. The time elapsed progress meter is frozen. There is no drive activity. Clicking Abort clears the scan progress information but the animated scan graphic remains. Closing the Vipre UI and re-opening it, then clicking on the Scan tab still shows a running scan with no elapsed time or status information. A reboot of the system clears the problem until the next deep scan.

Inappropriate?Thank you for your post!
I am sorry to hear about this problem with the scan looping on this file.
Please add this folder to the Vipre always allowed list.
1. Within VIPRE, go to View > Manage Malware > Always Allowed.
2. From here you will be in the “Always Allowed” list, which lists everything you have set VIPRE to ignore, whether it be through an Active Protection popup or a scan.
3. To manually add something to the list, select the “Add” button at the bottom.
4. Now you will have to navigate to the folder of the program you want to allow, which is the first option. If its just a single file, select the third option, Allow files by file name only, and navigate to the specific file. If you are unsure what file or folder to add, just email me back with the information VIPRE flagged, and I’ll let you know what to add.
Once you have added the file, you should see it listed in the Allowed List section and VIPRE should not flag this file or program anymore.
If you need any further assistance, just let me know.
I’m happy
