VIPRE and Windows Defender: What to do?
In VIPER's site FAQ section, you state: "If you are running another antivirus or security product with active protection enabled, DO NOT enable VIPRE's Active Protection. Doing so may result in significant performance issues."
I run Windows Defender on the Vista system on which I installed VIPRE. Whose active protection must I disable?

Inappropriate?I did a pretty normal install of VIPRE on my Vista machine, and Windows Defender was automatically turned off.

Inappropriate?Hi Paultx,
Thanks for posting. I would recommend disabling Windows Defender to avoid conflict with our Active protection.

Inappropriate?FWIW I installed VIPRE on my copy of Win7 Beta and it did NOT shutdown or disable Windows Defender.
I’m sad

Inappropriate?AngusSF, At this time we don't have any incompatibility with Windows defender being installed on any Operating system, can have them both installed on a machine, and let them both run scans. The problem is when you try to run more then one active protection at the same time, This is true for many security softwares.
If you have any other questions please let me know.
Thanks,
Peter
