Vipre blind to PE_SALITY.BU
VIpre does not detect PE_SALITY.BU and MAL_SALITY. I was infected with vipre running. Trend Micro HouseCall is finding over 400 instances of it on my computer while Vipre just sits there, blocking an occasional file.

Inappropriate? My machine is toast now. Virus is now blocking addresses to trendmicro and other anti-malware sites - but not sunbelt. Try going to Trend Micro and searching for these viruses by name. Reformat and reload is next for me.
I got this from a flash drive my son used in repairing another infected machine. I could mail the flash drive to you for you to play with. Otherwise, it is going under a sledge hammer! -
Inappropriate?Hello Alan,
As apposed to smashing the thumb drive with a hammer, and the machine is already infected I would recommend scanning the thumb drive with Vipre and it should clean the infections...

Inappropriate?I improved my outlook a little and did not smash it. Vipre did not find the virus. I installed Trend Micro Internet Security and it found and cleaned the virus from my flash drive. TMIS also cleaned the virus from my system. THe housecall option did not do the job - had to install the trial version. I liked Vipre up until it let me down in a big way. I know, no AV product stops 100% of the threats out there. But in this case, Vipre did not get the job done and TM did.

Sorry to hear that you were having difficulty. If you are having trouble removing a threat, please boot into safe mode (tapping f-8 when your computer is first starting) and run a deep scan and it should remove the threats that is not being removed in normal mode..
