Vipre crashed during a deep scan
Vipre crashed 80% of the way through a scan on my Win XP SP2 machine. A popup window appeared asking if I wanted to send an error report to Microsoft. I said no. Vipre remained on the screen (with the animation still running) but the scanning had ceased, and the pause/resume buttons didn't do anything. The window says one file quarantined, but the quarantine tab shows nothing.

Inappropriate?Hey JD,
Thanks for the post. Let’s try disabling rootkit detection from the scans to see if that's why the scans are freezing.
Open Vipre,
Go to FILE/SETTINGS,
Click the tab for “Scan Options”,
From there uncheck “Enable Rootkit Detection” and click OK.
If you continue to experience any more problems please feel free to contact our support team at support@sunbelt-software.com or by Phone at 1-877-673-1153 M-F 9am-6pm EST so we can gather some logs and have someone work directly with you. Please reference ticket id 001-00-235201

Inappropriate?I am running on Vista and the problem is similar. x10 runtime error related to SBAMsvc.exe popup neer the end of 'Deep Scan'. My machine will then running very slow. All I can to is to reboot.
I disabled 'Rootkit Detection' and rescan seems O.K.
My other XP machines do not have such problem.
I’m confused
