VIPRE Deep Scan with Archives never seems to finish
When VIPRE is Performing a Deep Scan, It take so long to scan that it makes one think it is never going to finish, unless the "Scan Archives" is disabled.
The files that give this behavior are the *.CHM found in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\MSDN\2001OCT\1033\
A file with 27,178 bytes takes over 1 hour. There is another file with 293,005 bytes that I guess will take 10 times that. Since there are several large *.chm files in the path, it will take over a day to scan. If I turn off the Archives in the deep scan, the full dep scan takes only 4 hours.
I think we need the ability to tell Deep Scan to not select certain files like "*.CHM" so it can still scan *.zip and *.rar files, for example.

Inappropriate?Kerry, thank you for posting your problem.
We did discover that when scanning these .CHM files it can cause the scans to run to long.
We released an update (5075) last week that should have resolved it. Please make sure that you have up to date definitions, and please let us know if you continue to have problems.
Thanks,
Peter
