VIPRE definition update fails
I installed VIPRE after it's release on a computer that had been running the beta version for several months. I had to manually uninstall the beta version, but the new version installed and worked fine. Now the definition update fails. I get a service error HTTP 500.

Inappropriate?Just installed vipre, same error, so no update and zero protection because vipre has no definitions

I have the same problem. I just installed it today and it won't update. If I browse my computer to find a definition, I can't find one. -
Nicole,
Try checking for updates again. It should go through this time. There was a problem with the update server over the weekend.

Inappropriate?so 4 months after jason's reply that all is well I have just installed the black friday special and am encountering the problem. Did you leave something out of the BF version? BTW, I searched the FAQ and re-downloaded and re-installed, wasting lots of time to wind up with exactly the same result. come on guys live up to your boasts of superiority....

I am having the same problems as Ralph. Have uninstalled, downloaded, reinstalled and still cannot update my definitions. Just finished downloading and reinstalling about an hour ago and it says my definitions are two days old and out of date. -
Gary,
The problem you are seeing is a bit different from Ralphs. If you check for updates again it should now indicate that you are up to date. -
Ralph,
Try the below script to reset your DNS settings. There may be an old beta entry left in there.
dnsflush script:
http://sunbelt-software.com/ihs/Flush...
Also, if you haven't already, reset your modem and router to clear out those DNS settings as well.

Inappropriate?I just joined the club that I don't want to be a member of. Since Sunbelt doesn't have 24/7 tech support I'm guessing we have to wait till manana. Of course, not having 24/7 is one reason their prices are lower. But, their system should alert them to a systemic failure so it can be corrected after hours.

My updates working now, but my definitions are dated 11/26. That makes them 4 days old! A lot of nasties can happen in 4 days. Black Hats don't take Holidays! -
Inappropriate?I had this problem for 24 hours after I installed Vipre yesterday, but now it's solved
I’m happy.

Inappropriate?I just purchased and installed Vipre and am having the same problem. No Updates for software or risk definitions are being downloaded. When I attempt to do it manually, I get a box that tells me Vipre has connection problems or busy servers. One would think that after more than a year of this problem, Sunbelt would want to fix this issue.

My problem was fixed next time I spent quality time with the PC (so about 11months ago). I had to update the s/w, then the definitions. Its been very good since then, including discovering and destroying the nasty #1 _Trojan_
