Vipre dialog window takes ages to open
Hi, I have Vipre on two home desktop computers, but when I click to open Vipre, the dialog window opens very slowly (around 4 minutes) on one computer - while it opens almost instantly on the other. The CPU usage is normal and low...and there is lots of RAM on both computers. So what can I do to speed up the opening of the dialog window?

Do you have any other security software installed on the system? It's possible there may be a conflict between VIPRE and another software that's installed.
What security software have you previously had installed? Many antivirus programs are known to not uninstall properly. They can leave files and other traces on the system that can cause conflicts with any other security software installed on the system.1 Comment

Nick, thanks - I don't have any other antivirus installed, just Zone Alarm firewall on both computers. When I start the computer Vipre loads fast enough, and also the scans are quick. It's just the opening of the Vipre dialog box that takes time (on one computer only). I have uninstalled all previous AV, but how can I tell for sure that all traces have been removed? -
