Vipre Enterprise v3.1.2416 - agent problems
Hello everyone,
I updated my new Vipre Enterprise deployment to version 3.1.2978 on Monday 11/03/08. As the agents get updated to version 3.1.2416, I'm experiencing several problems:
1. Agents become "inactive" in the console. Visiting the affected PC shows that malware service has been stopped (this seems mostly to happen during or after a scheduled scan). Restarting it sometimes freezes the PC, requiring a power-off reboot.
2. Agents sometimes fail on startup or scan, throwing these errors:
"Faulting application SBAMSvc.exe, version 3.1.2416.0, faulting module SBSDKXML.dll, version 3.1.2416.0, fault address 0x00041ff4."
"The application, C:\Program Files\Sunbelt Software\SBEAgent\SBAMSvc.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 11/05/2008 @ 10:05:53.128 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 00391FF4 (SBSDKXML!GetEnterpriseSystemEventFactory)"
In all cases, these errors require a reboot to restore stability to the PC.
3. Deep scans now consume large amounts of CPU, 50%+. With the previous agent version, deep scans were barely noticeable.
These three kinds of problems did not happen with the previously installed version, which had been very stable since I first deployed Vipre Enterprise three weeks ago. Since Monday, I'm going crazy trying to keep my workstations up and running and protected.
My PCs (almost 100 of them) are Windows XP SP2 with all patches thru October.
Please help!

Inappropriate?Jsage,
Please give us a call here at support. I believe this issue is something one of our technicians should look into. This is certainly not the usual behavior for Vipre Enterprise.
