Vipre ignoring "Exclude Low Risk threats" setting.
I've set Vipre to exclude Low Risk threats, but I'm still notified that they've been found during scans. I'd prefer that I not get that notification.

Inappropriate? What low risk threats are being reported?

Inappropriate?Tracking Cookies

Inappropriate? You can have VIPRE not scan for cookies. If you open VIPRE, go to file and choose settings, now click on the scan options tab, and un-check cookies. Now click ok and VIPRE should no longer report cookies after a scan.

Inappropriate?I'm seeing the same issue on Vipre Enterprise 3.1.2986, Agent Version 2434. Why aren't low-risk cookies excluded when I specify "Exclude low risk threats from detection"? I know I can separately exclude cookies, but I would want to know if "high risk" cookies were found (maybe from a spyware-infected site?).

Inappropriate?Mark,
All cookies in our signatures are tracking cookies and are considered low risk threats. They are a seperate exclusion to provide additional functionality of our software.
We have a public Vipre Enterprise Discussion Forum which is closely monitored by much of our Vipre Enterprise team. It’s a place where valuable information is discussed between our customer’s and our staff. Topics like unforeseen environmental issues, workarounds, and fixes can all be found here. Customers who subscribe to this discussion forum will also be the first that are notified on product announcements in regards to software upgrades, threat definition updates, and features that will be added in future releases. Here is the link to subscribe to our forums. I hope to see you there.

Pete, thanks for the answer re. the cookies.
Since you mention the Enterprise discussions: I subscribed to the Vipre discussion last Tuesday and received a couple dozen emails within an hour. I quickly unsubscribed. Is there a way I can view, respond to, and subscribe to individual threads there? -
Inappropriate?Mark,
As of right now you are either subscribed or unsubscribed. We are looking at other alternatives to the lyris forums because many subscribers feel that the emails can get excessive. The Vipre forum is definitely our most active forum, but last week was more active then usual. Most subscribers just use an outlook rule to route these emails to it's own folder and cut down on Inbox clutter. -
Even scanning headers is more than I want to do on an ongoing basis. Hopefully they'll switch to some kind of threaded forum with individual thread subscriptions. It doesn't need to be as touchy-feely as Get Satisfaction, but LIstserves are so last century!
