VIPRE Points? "We don't need no stinkin' points".
Sunbelt, I know this venue isn't a true forum, but I think you've sunk a little low this time. I'm all for promotions, but please don't put them on the GUI. How about this idea? Keep your prices down and your servers and product in optimum performance, and the recommendations will come naturally without any prompting or promotional campaigns.

Inappropriate?Capn, I understand. This is just a beta program we're rolling out and your feedback is very much appreciated.
As I'm sure you can understand, it's very challenging to compete against the big players, and we refuse to do tricks like "scan and scare" downloads, or auto-billing of credit cards, and so on that the big guys use. So we have to ask our users to be our frontline assistance in getting the word out.
Let's see how it goes for a short while. We'll carefully monitor feedback. I'm not interested in turning VIPRE into an advertising vehicle either, and we're certainly not going to do that.

Thank you Alex for your swift reply. As I said, I'm happy to promote VIPRE (of course, that is when it's operating efficiently and not misbehaving! :) ). I just think a tab taking up space on the GUI is, with all due respect, a bit gratuitous. -
Inappropriate?I have to say I like the points feature.. hiding it behind a tab is no problem for me and it's quite the incentive to put this on my client's machines (at least until I can be 100% certain it will behave, and it's not there "just yet")... until then clients get AVG and I get VIPRE until I can ensure I won't be getting VIPRE support calls as I literally get none with AVG.
