Vipre scan stops at 120 minutes - Vista
I run Vipre on a Vista 32 bit OS with a 64 bit CPU. Vipre runs for about 120 minutes and then crashes. It always seems to crash at around 120 minutes. Internally, I have 700GB on my laptop and two attached hard drives of 1TB each. Please advise how to have Vipre run a full scan.

Inappropriate?Try disabling the rootkit scan option under Scan Options. Let us know if that fixes the problem.

Inappropriate? That did not work. With the change in settings, it ran for 132 minutes, and then crashed again. Note that it does not just stop, it crashes. I have never been able to run a full computer scan.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?HI Don,
I have created a support ticket for you, and assigned it to one of my senior techs. I would like to get some log information from you to see if we can figure out where the crash is happening. Please follow the steps below to gather the log information and reference support ticket 001-00-242604
First open VIPRE. Then turn on full logging. In VIPRE click on help/about then support tools. Here change the log settings to error/trace (the bottom one)
When the error occurs again go through the following instructions to generate the logs.
First open VIPRE by double clicking on the VIPRE icon in the System tray (Down by the time on your computer)
Click on the word “Help” then “About”
Then click on the button labeled “Support tools” then “Run Diagnostics”
Make sure that all the boxes are checked and click “ok”
Once this starts, it will take a couple minutes while the utility gathers information. It will create a file on your desktop called “Sunbelt VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware Diagnostics.rar”
After that file appears, run the following utility to upload the logs to our server.
http://www.sunbelt-software.com/ihs/V...
You will be asked for your support ticket number. Then please send us an email letting us know the logs are on the server. -
Inappropriate?Done. Looking forward to your reply...

Inappropriate?Has there been any progress with this problem? I have to restart Vista every morning. This is not working out well....
-
Inappropriate?I have waited almost two weeks and not received a response. Not only does your product not work, I have to reboot my computer every morning after an automated scan. Throw me a bone and just tell me you are working on the problem, or need me to do something else. I can arrange a web conference if you want...
I need some help here!!
I’m disappointed!
