Vipre setup wizard does not complete
Upgraded CS v2 to Vipre on XP SP2. Run Vipre setup wizard. Not using proxy, when I next on proxy screen, I get an error, incorrect parameter. Setup continues. Does not ask for registration. Setup reaches finish screen, I click finish. When I run Vipre setup wizard starts again. Setup wizard never seems to really complete. Vipre unusable.

Inappropriate?I fixed this problem by uninstalled Vipre and reinstalling. At the second install, Vipre was installed into its own directory instead of over the top of CS v2. The direct update of CS v2 seems to have been the problem. While this install problem cost me some time, Vipre now seems to be working ok.
I’m disappointed the CSv2 update did not work as advertised.

i have tried that and it did work also i tried the cs&v cleaner and that will not run -
Inappropriate?I don't have CS2, just a fresh install on Vipre. the update won't set up properly. Is there a bug in the latest update? -
Inappropriate?That Invalid parameter error Is caused when there was a problem upgrading from an older version of Counterspy or Vipre to a new version. To fix it you need to uninstall the program and then reinstall it.1 Comment Add a comment

Inappropriate?As an update to my earlier post, I continued to have problems with Vipre update and finally found that the Vipre update over CS v2 left CS pieces behind which somehow interfered with Vipre update process. I deinstalled Vipre and then removed all left over parts of CS v2 and then reinstalled Vipre. Things seem to be ok now though time will tell.
