Why after installing VIPRE is my computer slow?
Installed purchased version of VIPRE and now my computer is very slow at login. It actually never gets to my Desktop and is very sluggish...like it's locked up. I also have Personal Firewall v 4.6.1845.0 installed. If I disable the SBAMSvc.exe service, I am able to get logged in and to my Desktop.

Inappropriate?Thank you for posting.
It sounds like you may have more than one security program on your computer also running active monitoring. Make sure you have these other programs completely disabled and everything should speed up.
If you need further assistance, please contact our support department at support@sunbelt-software.com, or call 877-673-1153.

Inappropriate?I bought Vipre to install in all my computers at home (2 desktops and 1 laptop) and only the machine i use as a juke box is functioning normally the others have slowed down to the speed of a snail. It's unbearable.
All my computers have windows XP and my mail program is TheBat!
I have no idea how to work this around. Before Vipre I had Kaspersky and i thought it was too heavy and Vipre was supposed to be very light and allow me to keep working. Now my computers are almost inoperable.
What is going on? Can anyone help?

Khorgan,
Can you please send us your System Information file? We'll take a look at what may be causing this.
System Information:
To get your System Information file go to Start/Run, type in ‘msinfo32’ and click Ok. Now go to the File Menu and choose Save. Save this export to your desktop and call it system information. Once it is done, please attach this file to an email and send it to support@sunbelt-software.com.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?[for power users] Try to disable most app started at boot time by Autoruns from Sysinternals and check and stop/disable unnecessary system services. Maybe some conflict is existing.
Also watch CPU load in Program Explorer again from Sysinternals.
Did you use Microsoft ActiveSync (for PDA)? SPF is incompatibile with this...
And maybe you have some malware/virus/trojan on PC...

Inappropriate?Thank you gentlemen.
I went all over all issues and sugestions connected with this problem and I finally decided to do what some other people and experts were sugesting.
I had to go to "Files \ settings \ active protection tab and once there I unchecked the box saying "check files when they are opened or copied"
After that my computers are fine and fast as lightning. I also have in two of my computers the programs to hotsync with my palms and that part I haven't test yet but the speed is back and I am very happy. Mostly I feel very satisfyed with your fast and gentle answers. Thank you very much, your help was much appreciated.
