Why are webpages loading wrong and why can't I attach files in Hotmail anymore?
Hi, I just used the history cleaner in the trial version of CounterSpy, just to get rid of all the old dead files. Now some webpages are not loading correctly (weather.com & hotmail.com), and I can no longer attach files in hotmail, which uses a javascript button! I'm using Firefox browser.

The history cleaner normally shouldn't cause this sort of problems. When you installed the CounterSpy trial did you also install the trial of our firewall? If so, there are some options on the Web section of the firewall that could possibly cause problems like this. It sounds like some sort of web filtering is blocking parts of these websites.1 Comment

Hi Nick, No, I did not install your firewall (unless it was installed inadvertently, but my old ZoneAlarm seems to be working fine). I didn't have these problems until right after I used the history cleaner tool. Could it have reset something? I can't seem to locate a popup blocker, although I do have Adblock plus plug-in for Mozilla Firefox. This, however, does not seem to come with a safe list, and I can't seem to figure out what, if anything, to adjust in it. Thank you for replying; Microsoft didn't bother. -

As I mentioned, the history cleaner normally shouldn't cause this sort of behavior. Please try clearing private data in Firefox to see if this solves the problem. Please open Firefox. Click Tools then Clear Private Data. Select everything then click Clear Private Data Now. Does everything work normally now?
If that doesn't work try shutting down CounterSpy. Does everything work normally now?
