Why does Vipre occupie 100% CPU Power?
Every day, around the same time (when i'am done with surfing and starting the Window Washer), Vipre massive slows down the PC. It's because it occupies nearly 100% of the CPU power for 1-2 minutes. Why?

Inappropriate?Hi Bisho,
Thanks for posting your question. From the brief description it sounds like VIPRE's active protection is monitoring some of the areas that the Windows washer is trying to clear. To test this try disabling the active protection when you run the Window washer.
You can also try adding Window washer to the list of known good programs, but because of the way it works, it works, Vipre's active protection may still interact with it.
If you continue to have the trouble, please contact us here in support at support@sunbelt-software.com We can see if we can figure out a way for them to work nicely together. -
Inappropriate?Yes, indeed, it's the "Sunbelt Software Anti Maleware Service" SBAMSvc.exe that occupies all the CPU Power.
And it is also correct that Window Washer (wwDisp.exe) has been added from me to the "Always allow List" because it seems that Window W. is active in these protected Areas.
BUT... this problem also occurs sometimes, for example, when i try to cut and paste any file from the Desktop to any other location.
Does noone else have this Problem?! -
Inappropriate?I have the same problem with identical symptoms. Here are a few more details:
(1) SBAMSvc goes to 99% CPU for about 2 minutes the first time wwwDisp.exe is run after a boot of the PC. The washer can be run any number of times after the first without the slowdown.
(2) The 99% usage starts with the execution of Window Washer application - the slowdown happens before any washing operations are started.
(3) Adding wwwDisp.exe to the allowed list does no good.
(4) Disabling VIPRE active protection before executing wwwDisp circumvents the problem. (if active protection is turned back on the problem occurs the first time wwwDisp is run.)
I also have SBAMSvc grab 99% at other times. The one that comes to mind - I selected a file within "MY Computer" and clicked the "Delete" selection on the pull-down menu. 2 minutes later the machine "woke up" and performed the deletion.
I would be happy to turn on a log or trace in order to try to isolate this problem.

Inappropriate?I also had this problem and because of it I uninstalled VIPRE the same day I installed it.
The first couple of times I didn't know what caused the slowdown because I didn't check in task manager, but the final time I did check and saw that SBAMSvc used up all of my CPU (because of this I assume that the first couple of times VIPRE was also to blame).
The first couple of times it happened was in Firefox. The opening of new tabs was really slow a couple times. The last time it happened was when I was installing a mod for Half-Life 2. The mod (MINERVA) was trying to extract a lot of files but couldn't do it because of VIPRE. After I shutdown VIPRE it went smoothly.
It's a shame really, because I do like VIPRE despite the short time I had it (it caught a couple of trojans in some really old files I had on my hard drive that my previous anti virus program didn't) and would've liked to continue using it.

Inappropriate?Nikola, You can try and disable the check files when they are opened or copied, this might reduce the cpu usage.
You can find this open when you open Vipre, click on file then settings, click on the active protection tab, then uncheck the option.
