Why is Vipre scanning my emails when I have that function disabled?
Sorry about the multiple posts today, but I have several issues going on here, and this seems like one of the best ways to get answers. We began having multiple email problems after I initially deployed Vipre Enterprise. (We run Outlook, Outlook Express, and a few employees run Thunderbird). We had so many problems, in fact, that we decided we would be best served by turning off the email scanning function. (We have a perimeter firewall {Watchguard} that has email scanning already enabled). Well, this seems to have stopped the Outlook problems, but the Thunderbird users sometimes have trouble sending, opening attachments, etc. When I examined the contents of one particular email received this morning via Thunderbird, I noticed that the very top of the message contents had a line that showed Vipre had scanned it, (along with Watchguard at the message end). Why would Vipre be continuing to check email when I have this disabled on all of my policies?

Inappropriate?Karla,
It sounds like the outlook plugin may still be enabled on some of your agent machines.
To disable the plugin:
Goto Start -> Run -> then type in: regsvr32 -u "C:\Program Files\Sunbelt Software\SBEAgent\SBAMOutlook.dll"
