Why won't SPF block all ports?
Running latest edition of SPF, checking security using Gibson Corporation web site and probe tests, shows ports 21, 23 and 80 to be open. Have set up a Packet Filter (via Network Security, Applications) to block all incoming and outgoing data on these ports but the ports are still reported as "open".
Please advise how this may be resolved.

Inappropriate?Hi Emmerecs,
Thank you for posting your question. You don't want to block all the ports, you won't be able to reach the internet. The following is from our support Forum
To pass that leak test you will need to follow the instructions below.
Open SPF, under the NETWORK SECURITY tab, set internet explorer to ASK, PERMIT,ASK, PERMIT. Then set ANY OTHER APPLICATION to ASK, ASK, ASK, ASK.
Since some customers seem to allow the Leak test the first time they ran it, they may have added it to the applications list as ALLOWED.
Under the NETWORK SECURITY tab Highlight ‘FIREWALL LEAK TEST UTILITY’, if it’s there, and click the REMOVE button.
Then run the leak test utility again and choose ‘DENY’ when the SPF warning box(s) appear.
***The like stated when you first run the leak test, under the first time help that pops up when you run this leak test it says, “ In order for you check whether your firewall can be penetrated, you should respond ‘NO’ if your firewall asks whether you want this application to connect to the Internet.
If you were to answer ‘YES’, then Leak Test will declare that your firewall HAS been penetrated, since Leak test will have been able to access the Internet, and it has no way of knowing whether or not you have intentionally allowed it to connect. *** -
Inappropriate?Hi.
Thanks for the very quick reply. Have checked the settings you listed, all were already as you suggested they should be, with one exception, I use Firefox.
Have run the test again, still the same problem.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Possibly something is not taking in the configuration. run the following utility to reset SPF's configuration to it's default setting.
http://www.sunbelt-software.com/ihs/S...
Then go into firefox and click on "tools" then "Clear Private Data" this will clear out your Cache and temporary files.
Then run through the steps for the test again.
Let me know how it works for you. -
Inappropriate?Hi Mike.
Thanks again for the reply.
Have gone through all the steps you listed (these included having to re-register my installation of SPF), re-ran the test, still the same result.
Where to now?
Jeff
