With Sunbelt firewall, my LOG OFF and TURN OFF computer do not work.
Installed sunbelt firewall and had a banner that would now go away. So, I went ADD/Remove PROGRAMS in Windows XP and deleted firewall with idea to reinstall (and banner might go away). Sunbelt firewall now not show up in ADD/Remove PROGRAMS. However Windows XP recognizes sunbelt firewall as installed, and Sunbelt icon is at the bottom 'toolbal' of my Windows homepage. Sunbelt firewall also shows up under MY PROGRAMS but not under ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS so I cannot get rid of hit for the following problem.
My button to LOG OFF and TURN OFF my computer do not work. Nothing happens when I hit the button. In frustration, I turned the computer off at power button and turned on computer. The Sunbelt firewall icon was gone and both LOG OFF and TURN OFF then worked. I went then to MY PROGRAMS and started Sunbelt Firewall. The icon reappears at bottom and again, my LOG OFF and TURN OFF button now do not work. I cannot turn off or restart my computer. I have disabled Sunbelt firewall and reactivated Wndows defender and this does not help. LOG OFF and TURN OFF do not work. I like SUnbelt firewall but cannot remove b/c not show up in ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.

Inappropriate?Hi Alec,
Thanks for posting your question. Try uninstalling the firewall again then use the following utility to clear up any files and registry keys left behind.
http://www.sunbelt-software.com/ihs/S...
Then I would recommend that you install version 4.6 it's still in beta testing but is very stable.

The problem you described could also be caused by having a second firewall installed on the computer. Even if the other firewall is disabled, conflicts can occur. so if you have one, make sure you uninstall it before installing the Sunbelt Personal Firewall again. -
Thanks Mike-
How do I uninstall Sunbelt Firewall when it is already deleted from ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. I already tried to uninstall and Sunbelt Firewall is no longer there. But, it still shows up as icon at bottom of Windows homepage and recognized as running by Windows security center and still listed under ALL PROGRAMS. -
Inappropriate?Hi Alec,
You can just run the utility. It will remove all the files.

Inappropriate?I have the same issue but I have removed, installed the beta version, and still get the same problem. I am on Windows XP SP3.
When my machine boots back up from the install, I get an error message that something cannot be written to memory.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Same problem on XP, when I stop the firewall it lets me and others log off, otherwise it just ignores the logoff.
