Java script

I've been using short scripts embedded in my pages to break Email and phone number strings. Today, every page I've looked at and every page I've edited has lost the display and the 'Enable/Disable' script button is defaulted to 'Disable'. When I click to 'Enable', there is still no display. I've tried to edit the script using the plugin in wysiwyg and also putting it directly in under Source editing mode. Neither one works. Is there a way to force enabling of Java script?
