What would you like to see in Feedalizr?
Feedalizr is off to a great start, but this is just the beginning!

We'll see what we can do. -
Inappropriate?twitpic.com integration would be great, maybe with a internal camera capture feature like the video option?
proxy support (works in other air apps without configuration / systemsettings?) would be awesome
I’m thankful
-
The proxy issue should be sorted out in the latest release. Get it now - http://www.feedalizr.com -
Inappropriate?I would prefer that if I pushed home or end while typing a comment, that it went to the beginning or end of what I was typing and not of the window..
I’m confident
-
Inappropriate?I'd like to see the possibility to select a post and have feedalizr keeping focus on that post, so that when new posts come in, I still have focus on my last read post and am then able to read on from there.
I hate that I always have to search for the last post I read by scrolling frantically up and down until I find it.
I’m excited
-
Definitely. Me too! -
Inappropriate? Some smaller things I'd like to see:
* show names inside the toaster window
* add toaster timeout in the settings (not that important for me because the current time is nearly perfect)
* don't show the oldest 3 comments but the newest 3
* when sorting, ignore if someone new liked a post
* show services for imaginary friends as well (looks like it doesn't load) -
It's been a while, but I think we have addressed most of your suggestions in the latest release (Version 2.1). Check it out at www.feedalizr.com -
Inappropriate? The feature of receiving an update when my friends comment on someone else. But it can also be distracting. Why not offer this feature as an option?
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate? How about being able to filter by FriendFeed friend list (not just individual friends)? I guess that's still just a beta feature on FF, but I thought I'd get the suggestion in there now. :)
Oh, and an iPhone app would be awesome! ;)
Cheers,
Grey
I’m excited
-
Same thing for FF rooms, btw. -
We will check out the Friendfeed API, not sure their beta features are available yet. -
Just noticed that the new FF interface is out of beta now. :) -
Inappropriate? Also, do like FF does with comments and show the first 1 or 2 and the last couple, rather than just the first few comments like feedalizr does now. That way it's easier to tell if there are new comments you haven't read yet.
And a way to set how long the notification box stays on screen. Actually, it'd be better (in my opinion) if that feature used Growl, but maybe that's just a Mac thing?
~G
I’m thankful
-
Thanks again for the suggestions. As for growl integration that would great, but alas at the moment we can't hook in. Lots of us on Mac's so we all want it as well :) -
Inappropriate? And when there's a duplicate Twitter entry, collapse the Twitter entry, not the FF entry. Or maybe add a setting that allows the user to choose which to collapse. And/or even the ability to switch which one is collapsed on the fly on a case-by-case basis.
~G
I’m amused by how many suggestions I've been making!
-
+1 for this feature! :) -
+1 for this feature! :) -
Inappropriate?Keep them coming! We always have to weigh up confusing the interface with to many features. But we will keep them in mind, you never know what will come out in the next version :)
I’m glad our new version is getting some much attention.
-
True. Maybe just a global setting then. The settings page is rather... sparse, after all. ;) -
Inappropriate?Another Mac request: Show the toasters (or whatever they're called... the Growl-esque thingies) in whatever "space" you're in, without moving you to the space that feedalizr is open in.
I'm not sure this happens all the time (I'll have to pay more attention), but it certainly is annoying when it happens.
Cheers,
Grey
I’m confident
-
Inappropriate? We heard you and have added a number of features and 'fixes' that have been requested. Check out feedalizr 2.1.1 - http://bit.ly/1rakv6
I’m very excited
-
Inappropriate?Hmm... feedalizr has gone a little wonky in ver. 2.1.1, at least on my Mac. Apart from the fact that it still opens links in a new browser window instead of in a new tab (guess that'll be for a later update, eh? ;), now the feedalizr window has a tendency to jump around and have some problems not popping up in front of the previously active window when I click on it.
On a related note, it'd be great if it didn't interpret my clicks to make it the active window as clicks on any link I happen to click on. Hmm... I was just trying to duplicate it now, but now, instead of clicking the links when I try to make feedalizr the active window, clicking makes the feedalizr window jump to another position.
Anyway, like I said, it's gone a little wonky. :) (Making the position in the feed sticky does work well, though. And pgup/pgdn was a great idea, too. Thanks for those!)
Cheers,
Grey
I’m ambivalent.
-
Inappropriate?How about:
- Make @name entries into links to peoples profile, as most other clients do
- Include URL shortening options when posting
- include "Replies to you" "DMs to you" in the filter list -
Hi Richard
The latest release links any @name in a tweet to that user's profile page. Also we are now dispalaying the @username at the top of each tweet.
Your other 2 requests are right at the top of our to do list. -
Inappropriate?Just a thought but wouldn't it be better to log each "feature request" in a separate item rather than in a big long conversation like this? Makes it a lot easier to see what ideas are being accepted and which are not...
-
Inappropriate?I'd ♥ to be able to have a tab for each service (twitter, friendfeed, etc) instead of only being able to open a tab for a "friend." I dislike using the pull-down menu to "filter" my feed. The "friend" tab feature is useful.
I’m confused
-
Hi !!blue, you are able to create a tab for each serivce by clicking on the service icon in an entry, this displays below their avatar. So you can set up separate tabs for each service. You will see that the person's name, avatar and the service icon all open different types of tabbed information. -
@Leezl, thanks! That worked, I had no idea that could be done. Thanks again! :D -
Inappropriate?Show the person's Twitter @name instead of the name they signed up with.....
I’m indifferent
-
Great idea. Thanks so much ChaCha, I will add this to our feature enhancement list ASAP. -
The latest release of feedalizr now displays the @name at the top of each tweet - check it out :-) -
But not in the toaster - why would you have a UI inconsistency like this? -
Inappropriate?i'm new to feedalizr and I can't seem to figure out how it handles friendfeed comments and likes. i see toaster messages that say "person A commented on (or liked) Yadda-yadda," but those comments and/or likes don't appear in the main window. Obviously comments and likes are a huge part of the conversation on friendfeed and not being able to see them in the flow of messages is a significant downer.
also, it would be great if we could use the keyboard arrows to scroll up and down. this may just be a Mac thing, but having to mouse over and grab the slider to scrub through messages is kind of a pain.
all that being said, the elegance of both your interface design and your integration of services is pretty impressive. keep up the good work.
I’m puzzled, but hopeful
-
Inappropriate?toaster feature onclick: left click go to next toaster on right click go to previous toaster, focus feedalizr.
-
Inappropriate?Doesn't respond well to scrolling up the list using a mouse scroll,. The up/down scroll built in on the right isn't very smooth either. I can't make it scroll slow enough to read.
In the toaster, I don't need to know that so and so "posted a new xyz entry." There's a lot of info already shown that tells me where they posted from and it also cuts off their entry.
I’m unhappy
-
Inappropriate?2 things that I think would improve the application:
First, have an option to remove the useless "Posted a new twitter/facebook/etc entry...". If you are showing the icon for twitter, facebook or whatever, why do you need to reinforce it with the additional text? The whole point of the application to is keep us up to date on posts - why have the text?
Second, if the toaster size can be configured, that would be great. Right now, most of the posts I get run off the bottom of the notification window, meaning I have to click on it just to see what the message is - this defeats the toaster. Choose one: notify me that there is a new post an make me open the application OR make the window large enough to accomodate the post so I can just read it in the toaster. Don't make me do both. -
Just to clear the first request up, I am referring to the toaster that pops up. It contains a LOT of extraneous information already and having it say "Posted a new twitter entry..." in front of each post is completely redundant. The entire point of Feedalizr is that you are trying to be updated on various posts, why remind the user every single time? The logo (for twitter, facebook, etc) tells me where it is coming from and the name of the user is good enough. Just show me what they posted instead. -
+1 from me -
Yes, I would like to be able to see the entire message or comment in the toaster, so I don't have to double click on it to see what is going on. -
Inappropriate?Minimize to the system tray would be awesome! Twhirl does it now. I think it's a simple setting in the air config xml.
-
Never mind. I was using the minimize button (-)instead of the (X) which is the way Twhirl does it. Using the (X) is a much better way to minimize to the system tray. Nice job! -
Inappropriate?Needs a smaller window when all notifications have been read. Would be great to snap it down to the bottom of the window to just a small 350 X 150 semi-transparent window. Ideal for placing on a second monitor.
-
Inappropriate?1) Ability to filter different types of messages on twitter; it's really, really valuable to be able to see replies and direct messages separately, and not just from your followers.
2) Ability to comment to facebook status updates and see/reply to comments on your own.
3) Better duplicate filtering -- the service seems to catch identical twitter/friendfeed content, but isn't catching all the twitter/facebook duplicates.
I’m thankful
