form won't take my email address
I'm trying to sign up for an email newsletter on Cafe Press. I keep getting a message to correct my email address, but it's correct. I'm using IE 7.

hey all -
just wanted to clarify this further. the original issue that caused a lack of the ability to submit an email was fixed long ago. unfortunately getsatisfaction doesn't allow you to split comment threads and migrate this into a new topic.
if you have an issue submitting your email address now, it's because your email domain isn't one that's recognized as a legitimate email sender by the (widely adopted) plugins we use to check for valid emails and keep malicious entry attempts from happening. the likelihood of your email address being legitimate and not being accepted by the plugin is about 1 in 5,000.
if you're one of those lucky people - please don't hesitate to shoot your email over to feedback@sweepery.com and we'll get you taken care of.
thanks
matt

Inappropriate?hey lee -
thanks for reporting this issue. it would be helpful if you wouldn't mind letting us know what email address you were trying to enter so we can take a look at the issue.
since i suspect you don't want to post your email publicly, if you can shoot us an email at feedback@sweepery.com that includes your email, i can also enter you and send over the respective coupon code you were trying to get.
thanks

Inappropriate?hey peter and lee -
we've looked into your issues, and (in peter's case, definitely, and in lee's case, most likely) you both happened to be on an AWS (amazon web services) instance that went down during your sessions, for which we apologize. while the vast majority of server maintenance is handled in the middle of the night, from time to time a particular AWS instance will briefly go down during the day, at which time it's automatically restarted. the resulting process that unfolds to immediately reactivate your session can cause up to a few seconds worth of downtime -- which is why you were able to enter upon trying a second time.
the unfortunate reality is that this kind of downtime happens to every web service at varying rates (and for someone like twitter, extremely frequently). but while we wish they could, not even amazon can maintain 100% uptime. in any case, we're constantly working to decrease the likelihood of this sort of user experience.
we've made the "report problem" link extremely prominent in our popup because we really appreciate people like you reporting these kinds of issues. please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.
thanks

Inappropriate?update: we're adding additional error messages in this case that recommend that people wait a few seconds, and then try again.
