Filter lifestream dropdown in Profilactic. Last reply on June 10, 2008 11:44.

When editing my lifestream it would be nice if the dropdown of services profilatic support only listed the services not currently on my lifestream.

Lifestream improvement ideas in Profilactic. Last reply on July 04, 2008 00:56.

I had a couple ideas for upgrades to the Lifestream services.

    1) Let people specify a icon for a custom lifestream icon, instead of that generic rss icon.

    2) Let the community create new services (perhaps with variable locators for the name and stuff (ie. %n)), and then let others be able to use this in their lifestream

    3) This is partly needed if you were to implement 2, but a nicer UI, instead of the huge drop down list would be nice. Perhaps checkboxes where you check what services you have, and each checkbox created a field for the name that you have on that service below all the checkboxes, so you click on all the services you have, and then fill in all the names.

Why do only my Twitter posts show up? in Profilactic. Last reply on July 04, 2008 00:44.

I have added Twitter, MySpace, FaceBook, and Pandora in My tools > Set up my lifestream. However only Twitters I've posted show up in my Lifestream (no other services), and nothing shows up in Friends' Lifestream (says I have no friends). When I go to My tools > Manage freinds' lifestreams, the main pane is blank, and to the right only Twitter shows up (no other services) and there is nothing I can click or select. It says:
twitter - Updates from me and my friends - included in your Friends' Lifestream. Why can't I see others' posts and services besides Twitter? I can see posts, status updates etc on the services themselves and on other social aggregate sites ok, so I know they are there.
    Thanks.

[Beta] Is there a way to grab the activity feed in RSS? in Last.fm.

I was wondering if it is possible to grab my activity feed in order to include it in my lifestream. Is there an RSS feed for it? If not, that would be a great idea.

Sort tweet replies/DMs, aggregate and display profiles, tinyurl. in Socialthing!. Last reply on June 27, 2008 14:22.

Sorry, this isn't blog spam, but I've expanded on my ideas @ http://www.albiniak.com/social-media/...

I really, really like socialthing 2.0. I've ditched twhirl in favor of using this full time. I don't care about a desktop/AIR app. Keep improving what you've got going - it's a great (social)thing!

    1) It should be easier to find historical tweet replies and direct messages. If I missed it, I missed it.
    2) Tinyurl (or similar) integration a la Twhirl.
    3) Twitpic (or similar) integration a la Twhirl.
    4) Aggregate profiles for the user's lifestream I clicked on and display it. Don't make me click again (and leave your site) to see it.
    5) Have the lifestream updates follow me around the site. If this doesn't make sense, spend some time on http://www.thesixtyone.com
    6) Summize / twemes integration - it'd be so dope if I could follow a #hashtag as a lifestream right in socialthing. I'd bump this to my #1 feature request.

    I'll buy the coffee/beer/aspirin :)

Great job on the updates to the lifestream. Now I can leave SocialThing up all the time, instead of checking the various services. Thanks a bunch - great improvement!

Are Mac users having problems with "Set up my lifestream" page? in Profilactic. Last reply on June 26, 2008 21:12.

We have had a couple of reports of problems with the "Set up my lifestream" page for Mac users.

They are reporting that none of the sites that they have added are showing up on the right side of the page. That means that they aren't able to edit or remove sites that they have added.

If you're having a similar problem, please let us know your OS and browser version.

    Thanks.

Fluid SSB not auto-refreshing in Socialthing!. Last reply on June 16, 2008 02:43.

I am using socialthing! in Fluid as an SSB (Site Specific Browser). I wanted to use it to replace Twitteriffic, but it seems as if it is never refreshing with new items, or doing any of the other stuff outlined in the blog post about fluid integration. I was wondering if this is a bug, or if I am doing something wrong. I have it set in fluid so when I quit the last browser window it only hides the window, so any fluid API calls and/or ajaxy stuff should be coming through.

Profile/Lifestream History in Socialthing!. Last reply on June 15, 2008 13:57.

In regards to the user's own lifestream, what determines the oldest update? For example my oldest update is April 21, 2008 (a Vimeo Like) but I have items from my other services such as del.icio.us & Flickr which go way back.

Would they get included as well & how is it worked out in general?

I can haz Cache? in Socialthing!. Last reply on June 09, 2008 04:44.

It seems like there isn't any cache in the Lifestream, because it pings the other sites every time I open Socialthing...

What i would see happening is the following: if the sites have been pinged and results have been shown previously, these are kept in some sort of cache so the next time I open the Lifestream I see all previous events straight away, and I only have to wait for new ones to load.

The cache wouldn't be kept for that long either, as events are replaced by new ones in the list 'fold' (top area of the list) every 24 hours or so; depending on how active your Lifestream is.

And if my idea of 'never-ending Lifestream' is considered, those items would be looked up and loaded as you scrolled down rather than taken from a cache.
