Browsers crash while listening to live Talkshoe
Hi, I have been listening to shows on Talkshoe for months now. Recently, the past 3 or 4 weeks maybe, every time I use Talkshoe whether it be from the site itself or on another site listening live the stream crashes every browser I have. I use firefox, flock, opera and IE. All of them crash only when using Talkshoe live. It does not do that if I listen to a show after it's been recorded. Any thoughts on why this may be happening?
Thanks,
Wendy

Inappropriate? If you are using any browser, first make sure your browsers are fuly updated to the latest versions. Now, if you are using the Web Client version of the Talkshoe Pro, there should be a new version coming out soon that will correct some of these issues. I would suggest that for now, use the downloaded version of the Talkshoe Pro client as this is the most stable version right now and does not cause your browser to crash when it shuts down. When you log into your Talkshoe account, you can click My Talkshoe and then Download to get a Mac or PC version of this Pro Client software.

Inappropriate?Dr. White,
Thanks for your response. I had Talkshoe downloaded, and have used it. I just uninstalled it today, and will reinstall it to use tomorrow to see if it fixes the problem. I will also update all browsers as you suggested with the exception of Firefox. I don't like Firefox 3. I am using 2, but I can see if there are any updates for it. I really appreciate your help. I like Talkshoe, and hope that everything gets fixed soon!
I’m hopeful that everything will begin working properly!

Inappropriate?I have been having the same issue, and downloading the downloadable version did not help. It is hit or miss, some nights it crashes every two to three minutes, sometimes only once a night. It ONLY crashes on live shows on Talkshoe. I have no problem with other live podcasts or any other program or website. I do have the latest versions also. Please help, as I love and miss my friends here!

Inappropriate?Andrea:
Which version of the Talkshoe Live Pro Client are you using, the Web Client or the Downloaded Client? If it is the downloaded client, is it the PC or Mac version? -
Inappropriate?I have tried both. It crashes with both. It crashes with the web client AND the downloaded client. The downloaded client is the PC version.

Inappropriate?Annie:
Which browser are you currently using? Have you updated it to the latest version available for that browser? Since you are on a PC, you may want to update your Java as well. These two things are interconnected and if they are outdated, either one or both, could cause some issues.
Oh and are your running Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7? -
Inappropriate?I am using the latest version of Firefox (3.011), will be updating again as soon as 3.5 comes out. My Java has definitely been updated as well. I am running Windows XP - SP3. The crashing happens on all three of my Windows machines, all set up the same.

Inappropriate?I'm having the same issue and I just started using TalkShoe tonight. I'm on a MAC, OS 10.4.11 with Mozilla/5.0-Firefox/3.0.11 and Safari 4.0. Everything is updated - java, flash, etc, etc.

Inappropriate?Depending on which client you are using, you may see some of these issues. Primarily when using the Web Client, you will see more issues of the crashing or getting kicked off due to some issues within the program itself. These issues are being addressed by our Tech Team currently. For more stability, you should download and install the Pro Client as it is the most stable of our client programs and does not suffer from the web client issues. This program is available for both Mac and PC.

Inappropriate?Yeah, I do a show every week and without fail there are people who give up and leave because their browsers are crashing, mostly Firefox. Chrome users report crashes, too, due to Shockwave closing when they visit Talkshoe. I really hope this issue can be resolved because I loose listeners every week because of it.

Inappropriate? Some of my listeners have had success with upgrading to the latest version of Flash to correct this issue, but for some, the problem still persists anyway. It's really frustrating when about half your participants give up and leave because their browser keeps crashing. Happens during my show every week.
