Callers to TalkShoe's telephone number (724-444-7444) pay their telephone company's standard rates. If you have free cell phone minutes or unlimited LD calling, then it's an "incrementally free" call. Otherwise, your standard calling rates apply.
However, if you have a broadband internet connection and a computer headset with mic, Voice-over-IP calls to TalkShoe's IP address (66.212.134.192) are free. Use the ShoePhone button in TalkShoe Live Pro (free here: http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/...) or an SIP-compliant VoIP softphone including SJPhone (free here: http://www.sjlabs.com/sjp.html), Gizmo, etc.
I’m happy!

Inappropriate?I am unable to get my audio to work with the shoephone button. I can connect to the chat but my audio will not go through as I am hosting the call. I am unsure of how to proceed with "dialing in" once my headset is connected and I am in the talkshoe pro screen.
-
Inappropriate?Try using SJPhone instead. Call the IP address (66.212.134.192) and then switch to the touch-tone (dial pad) interface when you hear the "Welcome to TalkShoe..." announcement. Follow the voice prompts from that point -- all the required inputs are displayed on the TalkShoe Live screen when it starts-up.

So you are saying I have to pay to dial in if I use a headset and the computer? Is it or is it not possible to connect to a call with a headset? I don't want to do anything other than speak through my headset into the conference call. -
No, you don't. Using SIP and "dialing an IP" does not mean using a phone. I followed the instructions here: http://mediaminutes.net/TalkShoe/ to set up my XLite soft-phone to connect to TalkShoe. -
Thanks Hatton, that's exactly what I needed! -
