I can't hear anything, but everyone can hear me. Not very well, but they can hear me.
I'm unable to hear anything using TalkShoe Live Pro. I'm not muted or anything -- I connect and there's no sound using ShoePhone. People on the call can hear what I say, but I can't hear them. I've tried this using two different computers (both run XP) with different setups for the microphones, but no luck.
After attempting to use X-Lite (I could connect but the sound quality from my end was abysmal), I attempted to use TalkShoe Live Pro again and could participate in the call when ShoePhone said I was disconnected and when TalkShoe Live Pro said I was not in the queue. Even connected this way, I kept hearing an echo of everything I said, delayed about four seconds (nobody else heard the echo or had echoes of their own). Eventually even this stopped working and I wound up only able to listen and not rejoin the call.

Inappropriate? This is something I did not know about and I have not had a problem using TalkShoe Live Pro on Windows XP. I am guessing you had a set of headphones on you computer, right? - If not, that is probably why you couldn't hear them.
X-Lite I use all the time to connect to TalkShoe Calls and My quality is great, other than when I am on Video, too.. Then my quality goes through the drain. Don't know why you have VOIP quality issues on your end.
I recommend that you make sure that your default audio device for the microphone is your microphone that you would like to use and that the audio device for the sound to you is setup to the proper device.
As I said, I am not having these issues - but, alot of the time I am using a Landline or another VOIP Client. -

Inappropriate?I'm using a Turtle Beach headset (Ear Force HPA2) on my main computer which is set up correctly -- I can use it in other voice chat programs. When I speak, the people in the conference call can hear me (although they said it sounded like I was calling from another dimension), but I can't hear them at all. When I attempted to use my wife's computer, I was using the microphone on a webcam (which also is set up correctly and has been used for other voice and video chat), and again, they could hear me but I still heard nothing from the call.
Troubleshooting again on a test call:
In Talkshoe Live Pro, I'm the host for the call. I have one person dialing in. When I am disconnected according to ShoePhone, I can hear everything in the call and, logically, nobody can hear me. When I connect using ShoePhone, I hear nothing from the call; everyone can hear me. This happens on both computer setups. -
Inappropriate?Thomas, given that you're having abyssal sound quality when using both ShoePhone and Xlite, my suspicion would be that there's a network issue between you and TS and you're simply not getting enough packets through in a timely manner. SP tries to echo cancel as best it can -- which can lead to some weird audio glitchiness if things get lagged in odd ways.
It's definitely sounding, from your description of the test call, like you're having upload/outbound bandwidth issues. Just to be sure, might be a good idea to triple-check the default device settings under Start->Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices->Audio, and make sure they're set appropriately because ShoePhone doesn't have a seperate device setting area, and check the Voice tab as well for the same thing.
That said, I think it's fairly likely you've just got too tight an outgoing channel. You know the drill on that, kill any BitTorrents, downloads/uploads, etc to try and free up as much magic smoke as you can.

Inappropriate?Thank you. I realize you need help, I was not available for support 4 hours ago, I was at school.
Make sure you mic is not muted and make sure your mic is also connected to the computer. If you are calling in via phone, make sure you are not muted.
