Some thoughts for an improved Chatroom
Hey, hows it going folks? I help produce a weekly show "WZR Radio" here on the Talkshoe network. I recently switched over to Talkshoe after self hosting the show on my server for years. Overall, I am incredibly pleased with this amazing community that you have founded, and the resources that it provides. I just wanted to share a couple thoughts on the chat system.
I love the fact that it allows call moderation right in the chat, that is great. Yet it is the chat moderation that I believe could use some upgrades. Prior to hosting the call on Talkshoe, I used an IRC Chatroom for my show, many of the features were a must. I would love to see some of these features adapted into the Talkshoe Live chat program. Often times we will some very "immature" listeners in our chat, they will make it their goal to disrupt other listeners' experience while listening to our show. Through things like spamming, they can make the chat room unusable. Now I know that I can mute someone in the chat, which I think is a great feature, yet it is incredibly simple for someone to reload their page and continue harassing the chatroom. If they continue entering, getting muted, and reentering it can become quite a hassle for me, as the host, to continue muting them as well as hosting the show. A couple features would be ideal in order to stop actions like this. A spam filter, for instance would be great. Lets say a user posts 5 times within a 10 second period in the chat, they could be muted automatically and given a warning. Also, some sort of IP Ban would be incredible. At times, even after countless warnings, a user will not give up, for this it would be ideal to be able to ban them by IP for the rest of the show, (it could reset the ban log for the next show). Both of these features would surely improve the experience that a listener has in the chatroom. Yet in order to make it easier on the host, it would be fabulous to have the ability to promote "moderators" in the chat, these trusted users could have the ability to mute users.
All of these features would not only reduce the strain on the Call Host, it would also provide for a more pleasant experience for the listeners.

Inappropriate?I like these suggestions. I'd also like to add a few others: I"d like to see the chat be able to hold increased length of messages instead of about the two line capacity it currently allows. Also, there is often a big delay in time after message is typed, until it appears in the chat. Also, I seem to get kicked out of the chat a lot and so do others at times. I'm not sure why this occurs so much, but hope it is fixed.
