Monty,
We'll manually retrieve and post the missing MP3 file for you. As you suspected, TalkShoe is not designed to allow stop and restart of recordings. When that happens, to protect from file loss, we create a second MP3 file but automatically post only the first MP3. I'll let you know when the recording has been recovered. It may take a day or two.

Inappropriate? We need more information from you in order to investigate. Please reply with this info:
- Your Call ID?
- Which TalkShoe Live client did you use (web-based or downloaded TalkShoe Live Pro)?
- Did you trigger the recording manually, and if so, was it using the TalkShoe Live controls or telephone touch-tones?
- Did you hear the 7-second TalkShoe Audio Logo ending with "recorded live" and see a visual indication that the call was recording? -
Inappropriate?Call id: 25637
Web-based client
Here's what happened. The recording was triggered automatically, but it was about 15 minutes before the start time, so I stopped it. Then I realized the record button was de-activated and couldn't be started again, so I closed the window, hung up the phone, changed the preference on that call to manual recording, and re-entered the call. The record button was back, so a bit closer to the start time, I clicked it. I believe I heard the audio logo, but my memory is unclear on that point. (I know I heard it the first time - I think I heard it the second.) I KNOW there was visual indication that the call was recording for the duration of the hour long conversation.
Thanks for your quick help. If the file is really gone, I need to scramble to find a replacement for that content in my podcast by tomorrow.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Hello?
Just to be clear, I did re-do my conversation, but if the original one is floating about somewhere on your server I would love to have it back. And if starting and stopping a recording is a no-no, I'd like to know that too.
Thanks!

Inappropriate?Thank you Dave!
Here's a suggestion - (though I'm sure you've thought of it already) - In the case where more than one recording results from a call, when a user clicks on "options" next to the episode listing, couldn't all the files associated with that episode be listed, and the user allowed to select which one will play? That was the first thing I tried, anyway, when I realized the wrong file was associated with that episode. Thanks!
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Monty,
Your lost recording has been recovered and posted (sorry it took so long), and we've defined a process on our side so that this can be executed in just a few minutes any time it is needed again in the future. Someday we'll automate this per your suggestion so that these additional recordings post without manual intervention. Thanks for your patience.
Dave
