Will I be able to call Talkshoe via Skype for free in the future?
I heard that it was once possible in the past that Skype users could connect to Talkshoe for free, will it be possible in the future?

Yes, TalkShoe will be a free call from Skype as soon as they implement a VoIP standard called "SIP" which they've said they will support soon. By the way, they currently charge for the call to us; we do not charge for the call from them (so the ball is in their court).
In the mean time, you might consider using any other SIP-standard softphone including Gizmo (http://gizmo5.com/pc/), SJphone (http://sjphone.org/sjp.html), or X-Lite. The TalkShoe address for Gizmo is 123@66.212.134.192; the address for SJphone an most other clients is 66.212.134.192
I’m thankful

Inappropriate? Thanks very much! I'll stay tuned to Skype updates waiting for this to become available. I have tried many other VOIP programs including the ones you mentioned, and have had lots of trouble, So I'll get into Talkshoe when Skype SIP comes!
I’m excited

I definitely will be using Skype to call into TalkShoe once Skype adds that.

Inappropriate? So, Dave, did this actually happen in the 3 months since you replied?

Inappropriate?donnacha,
A quick search of Skype's website turned up nothing new. You may try it for yourself here: http://www.skype.com/go/help
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is a widely supported VoIP standard. I can only guess that Skype is not supporting it so as to force their users to call Skype-to-Skype which helps grow their business virally (a perfectly legitimate strategy, albeit a bit frustrating for everyone else in the VoIP world). -
Inappropriate?I think its funny that Skype hasn't joined the SIP movement and added it as a feature. I guess these days they're pushing their person-to-person calls and Skype-out so as to call Internationally and cellphones/ landlines.
I’m OK.
