Bug: Not working/lost data
Weightbot no longer working since last update. I tap on LCD and it shows previous weight for about .5 sec then vibrates and then reverts back to 0.0 and when I tap again it just does it again so cannot input any new data. Now I have also just noticed it has wiped all my previous data. My phone is not jailbroken and I have already tried rebooting...please help!

Inappropriate?the same here!!!!!

Inappropriate?Do you guys use our backup system? We haven't seen this problem ever before and it's very hard to figure out what the problem might be without seeing the data.

Inappropriate?Since my last post I have tried downloading (buying) again from iTunes and downloading/rebooting - still nothing seems to fix it. It now is treating me like I've just loaded for the first time (ie. comes up with instructional screen first) but when I try to enter data again by tapping the LCD once, it briefly displays a weight (not mine - it displays 79.0) and then vibrates and goes back to 0.0 (no red led light appears by the way). I have attached a pic of the screen as it appears before and after I try to enter my weight)...

So the only reason this type of behavior should happen is if you shake the device while entering the data. It's possible that there's some issue with the code that reads the accelerometer or that there's something wrong with your device.
Can you try laying the device down on a table and then trying to enter in the data to see what happens?
Also what kind of device is this (iPhone original, 3G, iPod Touch 1/2?) and what version of the OS are you running. -
Inappropriate? Thanks Paul - confirmign I have tried it on table and only lightly tapping to avoid any accelerometer type issues - still no luck. I have a 3G iPhone and am running version 2.2.1 (5H11). It was working fine until your last upgrade and WB rocks compared to anything else out there so really keen to get it fixed. thx

Inappropriate?oh you are not going to believe this. I just accidentally dropped my iphone (on carpet so it wasn't too bad) and just went back into WeightBot and now it works!! I hadn't previously dropped my phone so I don't know what came "unstuck" but it definitely sounds like something to do with the accelerometer....SOLVED!
I’m thankful

Inappropriate? That's one way to fix things! :) Maybe we should add that to our FAQ. (Maybe not) Glad your problem is solved.

Inappropriate?Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with my iPhone 3G with 3.0.1 OS.
When I try to enter my current weight, Weightbot doesn't take care of it and goes back to the 0,0 value.
Reading these posts, I've just found that when I enter weight data my iPhone tilted on the left side, everything works fine. But when I put it back in a normal position, my data is canceled.
In this case, I can enter data in Weightbot but it's not really usable because if I forget to tilt opening Weightbot, my data goes away...
Please note: Everything was working fine before the last update (I thnik) and I have no problem with other applications using accelerometer. A simple option switch to cancel accelerometer function would suit me.
I really thank you for your help,
Serge

Serge,
My suggestion would be to just try dropping the device onto a bed or couch from about a couple feet up. Silly as it may seem it tends to reset the accelerometer. -
Inappropriate?THANK YOU SERGE.
That seems to do it.
Paul -- you can reset the calibration of the accelerometer from pretty much any app that you can use as a level. There aren't any moving parts in the accelerometer, so technically a vigorous shake will do the same thing as what you're suggesting.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Wow, was having the same problem, but I couldn't get the graphs to show up either, so I tried banging my iphone against my knee with the screen on, and I saw it finally flip to the graphs. Tried entering the weight again, and everything is working fine now.
I’m relieved
