Graphs in v1.2.2 are still pretty much useless
You seemed to follow my suggestion (http://www.flickr.com/photos/radiantm...) in flickr of using a moving average (I provided a link to The Hacker's Diet with all technical information), but your moving average seems to be way too smooth, so it is next to useless.
Are you employing the “Exponentially Smoothed Moving Average”? With what "smoothing constant"? Not 0.9, I presume...
You also left the "connect the dots" graph line, which is outright useless. Please change that and connect the dots of acual measurements vertically to the trend line. That gives the user an ***intuitive*** idea of how strong is the trend, based on how much those dots "pull" the trend line.
Please take a look at how your competitor app Fatwatch graphs the data. Your data entry GUI is marvellous, but your graphs suck, I'm sorry to say; whereas Fatwatch's data entry GUI sucks, but its graphs rock!
So strong are both apps in those two areas, respectively, that I use both of them daily; and I only consult Weightbot's graphs whenever there is an update in the App store.
Hope you improve your graphs.
Thanking you in advance,
Diego Cantalapiedra

Inappropriate?Since I maintain my weight in weightbot and Fatwatch, let me show you the graphs.
First Weightbot:
Dec 2008.
Jan 2009.
What I'm greeted with when I rotate the phone.
Now Fatwatch:
Dec 08 - Jan 09.
Quarterly.
Maybe it is just a problem with the vertical scale in Weightbot; it certainly shows, as well as lack of consistency between one month and the next, which have different scales. But somehow I still see the trend line being way too smooth. I don't know.
I still prefer the colour scheme and general aesthetics of weightbot's graph display, but I find the graphs themselves pretty much useless. Fatwatch graphs, although not as pretty, are much much more informative and useful, which are the points of a graph (no pun intended).
Can you look into the matter please?
