I have iphone 3Gs- 16gb and when i use WIFI, i can't download songs but when i switch to edge or 3G, the songs download fine. It is definetely not my internet or router, because i have 1st gen iphone and it downloads songs fine over wifi
Ok, so after i've installed the latest OS, i though i'd give a try to online play. Me, DX, Kratos and SwimminSurfer went into various rooms to play under new conditions. I'm sorry to say, but it was horrible
21:00:45 ‹DXChain› at the first 8x point, my ipod acted like it connected and it lagged for 30 seconds after that
-most random problem ever :)
There's huge problem with arrows. it seems like players on iPods get only the side arrows while those on iPhones got none.
20:39:38 ‹DXChain› anyone notice arrows not responding?
20:39:48 ‹SwimminSurfer25› just the middle one
Also, I had a lot of lag drops and stuff like this.
Anyone willing to share their feelings about the new update+ online play, please post here.
I've signed up for the tap tap reporter and it said i have been added to their mailing list. But i havn't gotten any "members tracks." Are they just added to your current songs? Or do you have to download them, if so where would you downloadthem?
THIS IS LONG I KNOW... PLEASE READ ALL... SORRY.Ok so here it is. I got an iPhone 3G on launch day and I loved it.... I downloaded Taptap soon after and made a profile, as did many other people. Thinking of all my versions of taptap and all my other resource consuming apps I decided to upgrade to the iPhone 3GS. So i restore my iPhone 3GS from the back up of my 3G and ran into a pretty big problem. All my apps went on the phone but were invisible because I used the jailbreak app categories on my 3G. Ok no big deal, i'll just start from new.... not hard at all... just back up my contacts and move on with life. When I had the jailbreak and used categories I kept Taptap out of any folder because I loved it and used it so much, so I played around with it before I started from fresh..... and I LOVED IT. So I go back to the computer and start from scratch, put Taptap on, and just about the first thing I do is go to play. This device has a different ID, so I have to associate my tapulous profile with this phone, no big deal. I go to do it and realized very stupidly..... when I made my Taptap profile a year ago I had accidently made my email address at .CON. OMG my profile.... all my scores.... everything. I moved on and made a new profile with the correct email address with a slightly different name. I consider myself to be a really good taptap player.... I LOVE rhythm games and listen to music all the time. I almost never take my headphones out of my ears. I can keep a beat really well. So now I'm really sad when I get my name on the top 10 scores for a song and its not my name... the name I used to know and love... the name I have for every service I use. I hate it. What I was hoping someone from tapulous would be able to do would be to delete my old account and change the name on my current account to what my old account used to be. I got my 3GS on launch day, so i've built up quite a few scores on this new profile. I've been working pretty hard at it. My current tapulous profile name is xanatek and my old one was xanadeath. I would be so happy if I could get someone to communicate on email or something and help me fix this. It would make me soooo happy to see my normal name for everything, and the name I have been using for years on the high score lists. Thanks.
Xanadeath
P.S. Taptap on a 3GS is silky smooth and so awesome I can't even put it into words.
After playing a good couple of games, rocketing me up the leaderboard, 'Get Smashed Gate Crash' comes on, which I rather like because I can 100%, however halfway through the song the game started randomly not responding to touches, loosing my streak and causing me to come 9th/30.
Also in 'Get Smashed Gate Crash' I find that it is also impossible to score points on all the shakes because the Phone recognises previous shakes as an early shake for the next arrow. Even when I shake it a really small amount and return to the central position asap I still find that the accelerometer must still be bouncing around or something because I can never score many points on that section and still keep the multiplier.
I also agree with the idea I read somewhere about having different levels of shake points like you do with normal taps. It's often online that when arrows appear that I move up/down depending on if I managed to get it in the microsecond time gap.
Also, I find that after a long session of tapping the battery in my iPhone is considerably drained and mid-song I get the 20% Battery left warning, this automatically pauses the game, however this still often looses me my streak. Is there any possible way of stopping this warning? I doubt it due to Apple restrictions but worth mentioning. (The recognition problem occurred when the iPhone was plugged in so I wouldn't suspect it's a power issue.)
Otherwise, awesome game, and just an Idea about preventing people hacking into the leaderboard and what have you, to prevent high scored over the maximum you could have the game store the time and length of each tap hold and shake and submit this instead or with the score. Then compare this with the 'notesheet' re-calculate the score on your server and use this. Although this may cause further lag issues it's just an idea.
Why can't I upload images to these support forums? I get "TypeError: 'responseText' is null or not an object" when trying to upload small (~175k) PNG files.
WIndows Mobile users want TAP TAP REVENGE!!!! A lot of WM5 or 6 around the web are asking for a version compatible with our software. Please do something about it
I am happy to tell everyone that I have seen a minor performance bump across my 3GS and iPod Touch 2G, and a more major one on my brother's iPhone 3G after updating them all to the new 3.1 software.
Overall the new software is speedier and there is improved graphical performance across the board.
The online server doesn't seem to be keeping track of what's happening during the game very well. It's been happening for at least a couple of days.
For example, during a recent game it showed me as being in second place or lower the entire game until the last 3 seconds or so, when I was suddenly in first. However, I was more than 40,000 points higher than the second place finisher, which obviously didn't happen in the last few seconds of the song. Clearly I was in first longer than that. Likewise, a similar situation happened the next game when I ended about 20,000 points higher than the next player even though it showed me in second place right through to the last seconds.
I don't know if it's related in any way, but on the flip side of this is the fact that for me online play has seemed to have less lag recently. If this is a trade off (worse statistics during game play for better game performance), I'd vote for leaving it like it is, but if there's a way to have both, it'd be nice to have a more accurate representation of your location in the pack during the game.
Ever since upgrading to TTR2 both online and offline games have terrible lag problems that ruin any streak achieved. Arrows are very unreliable. The only register about 60% of the time. Online games sometimes lock up when the game is starting and you see your rank drop but cannot play. What is being done to fix these glitches. Yesterday I lost 100 points of ranking due to lag problems! This is very frustrating.
So, this might be going out on a limb but do you think there could ever be a training mode sort of thing similar to the mode on DDR? I love to play on Extreme but sometimes the combinations get complicated and it can be difficult to decode them simply by replaying them. It would be neat if you could somehow slow the song down and practice hitting the beats that way before playing at normal speed so that you could improve your accuracy. Other than that I love this game. :)
For some reason Twinkle keeps crashing on my iphone. I've tried resetting my phone, I've tried deleting the app and installing it again but it all ends in tears as I'm still unable to open Twinkle. Only recently this has started happening and I just can't seem to fix it.
Whenever I click on "ok" after getting the 'friend back' option the friend isn't actually added to my friends list and it's very frustrating...any ideas?
I added my iPhone 3G as an authorized device a couple days ago, but got an iPhone 3GS today. Tried to authorize it, it says it sent me an email to confirm, but I never get the email. When I try to go through and do it again, it just says "We sent an email to your address, check it!" Can I get the authorization email re-sent?
In online play it shows our user rating. I have come first place before and it said -4 or 7. And I was 5th and it said +36. What is this number based on? How can I make it higher? If that makes any sense?
Ok, it's been a few weeks... I signed up for the Tap Tap Reporter, and got my member tracks and everything... but haven't gotten the reporter yet...
I even signed up Again maybe a week or two ago... still nothing...
I have been playing since TTR1, and I'm not quite sure how the percentage works. I figured it out once on TTR1 by testing, but I forgot what I concluded.
In Tap Tap Revenge 2, or any other TTR, is the percentage calculated by the amount of taps hit/not hit, or do the accuracy of the hits also affect the percentage? If so, there are so many bugged songs that don't work properly.
