3 months?? Really??
I really wanted to give the upgrade to Twinkle a try after all of the problems with the current version, but after broken promise, after broken promise on the update for the past 3 months I have given up. Twittelator has been updated three times and added a TON of new features with only one developer working on it and the Tapulous team can't even get one upgrade out the door. I guess most of the Tapulous staff leaving is hurting you more than you really want to admit.
So long...
So long...

Inappropriate?Sorry, Robert, but this is out of our control at this point. Hopefully Twinkle 1.2 will be live very soon now.

Inappropriate?Bart,
To be honest I don't know what to believe anymore, a month ago you said you submitted the upgrade to the app store, and then 3 weeks later you said you sent another update. When you were confronted with the prior update post from one of your employees you then stated that the second update was to "fix some things".
Even if you really did send the update to the app store a few weeks ago that's still well over 2 months for the upgrade on an app with some very serious problems. Tapulous seems to have moved towards a one app company, and that app is not Twinkle.
I see Twinkle going the same rout as the FriendBook app..... dead. -
Inappropriate?@Robert Basil -- I really hope you are dead wrong about moving focus to one app, and Twinkle ending up like "FriendBook".
I will be pretty upset if continued advancements don't get made with Twinkle after v1.2.
As for the delay in the release of v1.2; patience is key. Believe me, I have been waiting for this update as long as everyone else... But I mean, I can't put every last drop of blame on Tapulous! It's also APPLE that takes pretty long to "review" apps.
le sigh, I hope it hits soon!!!!! -
Inappropriate?Granted, Apple might be taking a while to review the apps, but remember it took Tapulous well over 2 months to update it before it was submitted to the app store. When other Twitter related iPhone apps are doing 2 and 3 updates (with only one developer) in the same time frame Tapulous has no excuse for not getting the update out sooner.

Inappropriate?I've mentioned before how great I think Twinkle is, that I'd be willing to pony up a fee for the app. I think it'll be wonderful to get a 'block' button for those who really annoy us, in the paid version at least... And I've encountered the inability to change my avatar picture. Yet, I've seen others have been able to. When I tried to do a fresh start over even, no joy. Got an email with a huge broken link that does nothing.
Help?
I’m frustrated as heck!
-
Inappropriate?Twittelator just came out with it's 4th update in the last 3 months. The LONE author of Twittelator keeps adding new and very cool features with every update. Meanwhile the STAFF of Tapulous can't even get one single update out of Twinkle.
I’m amused
-
Just don't complain.. Just be happy that people like Tapulous even just make this apps.... And maybe you have to look better.. Because Twinkle 1.2 is already out so. -
I agree with danielvv, Tapulous are doing what they can, Apple have the power to hold or release applications (this was something speculated on a while back before the 2.0 firmware; apple would have too much control over releasing applications).
This application is Free, and has been pretty good for me, sure there were a few glitches at the very start, but Tapulous have been on it and have tried to minimise these glitches.
Just wanted to mention also, I do not measure an application on the amount of updates a piece of software has, I measure it on how useful the program is, and with Twinkle is has the edge over the competition in a couple of ways.
and as has been pointed out v1.2 is out there which further increases it's functionality.
at the end of the day, this is a free application being developed for free and not costing yourself directly for it's production - I'm sure if you wanted to speed up production Tapulous would gladly take donations/pay check from yourself to update their software. -
Robert, if you aren't happy with Tapulous, then feel free to move on. I don't think it's necessary to continue to bag on them. It's a free app, after all. -
Inappropriate?Well, there's the secret... Minute *I* post about Twinkle not being updated, within like 2 hours, BANG, they it is, and it rocks!
I’m thankful
-
Hey Wyldcelt,
So are you able to do all those changes you mentioned with 1.2? -
Inappropriate?Yes. Also, going back and deleting the old account with the 's in my username was the help in re-starting my twinkle account. The confirm delete emails had a few strange letters instead of the so I replaced them. with the symbols and deleted that profile.
I've blocked most of the weirdos on there now, and it's a lot nicer with the darker keyboard. I just left it as letters for my username now and can update avatars. I also made some avatar images smaller, which helped as well.
I’m happy
