"Stuttering", and jerky movement?
The dots traveling down the display often stutter - making it impossible to actually hit them "on the beat", since they jerk down the lines at different speeds. What's causing the processor overload which prevents smooth rendering? iPhone 8 GB 1st-gen, with TTR 1.1.

Inappropriate?Have you tried rebooting your phone?
-
Inappropriate?Yes - multiple times, unfortunately. This might simply be related to the other problems regarding bad synchronization between the desired taps and the song beats (see the other threads).
On well-synchronized songs, if I don't try to pay attention to the dots traveling down the lines, I can simply tap on the beat and still do fairly well. However, on other less-well-synchronized songs (e.g. "Sad But True"), this becomes impossible, since tapping "on the beat" is counted as a miss.
Jerky visuals are still a concern, but they are more pronounced on some songs (e.g. those on harder difficulty levels, with more taps expected), than others.
** This does appear to be worse after I've been playing a few songs in a row. Perhaps a memory leak somewhere? -
Inappropriate? This has happened to me now too. I have been having trouble because it seems to either slow or go to fast and it messes the whole song up.
-
Inappropriate?I've noticed the same thing. It seems like the problem is compounded by the "Miss" notice. Once that starts showing up in a complex section of a hard or extreme song, it's almost impossible to get the thing to start registering taps anymore until the stream of notes dies down.
Similarly, the slow down can get so bad that you're tapping along to the beat, knowing the dots are off, only to have it jump half a screen or more, causing dots that you didn't even know existed to virtually cross the line. Makes hard and extreme game play difficult, to say the least.
I’m trying to find the music in the madness
-
Inappropriate? It makes the harder levels difficult as the game doesn't seem to register them fast enough on my iPod Touch. A simple graphics mode would be lovely for trying to beat the high score table.
I’m frustrated

Yeah this is a good idea. i really think the company should look into this -
Inappropriate?I'm experiencing a lot of this... which results in my missing a lot of taps. I gave up on the Canonfire contest because any double notes would stutter/skip so badly on their way down that it was impossible to time them correctly.
I’m st, st, stuttering.

Inappropriate?same thing here i was just going to post a question too, mabye somthing for 1.2

Inappropriate?Tap Tap Revenge is unplayable to me. I cant make it through even 1/4 of a song without the onset of extreme stuttering/lag/jerky movement. I have deleted the app and reinstalled, I have deleted and restored from itunes, I have spoken in a brash manner in the direction of Tap Tap while it was running on my phone. Nothing works.
I’m complaining. But seriously, its pretty bad.
-
Inappropriate?@Craig Keller - love your third option, shame that Tap Tap didn't respond to your brash manner...at least you tried to tell it who's boss.
Would love to have a response from Tap Tap staff on this issue though - it seems to be very widespread.
I’m waiting for an answer...

Inappropriate?this topic is from 4 months ago. TTR 1.5 has no lag at all now
-
Inappropriate? Thanks JCMan. We've been working hard since our debut to make the gameplay as smooth as possible. We've got even more ideas though coming up.
-
Inappropriate? Thanks for the info, but I only experienced the issue once I had upgraded to version 1.5 (with the online play). The program is barely useable for me, perhaps there is something else going on? I've confirmed that if I use the program in airplane mode it runs fine...
-
Do you only see this behavior in online play or in regular play as well? -
It was on both - I've just replied below that a minor update 1.5.1 seems to have improved it though, so I must've missed that update (sorry for wasting people's time). -
Inappropriate?i get this too on an iphone, the touch works alot better.
-
Inappropriate?I checked last night and found my app was version 1.5, but there was a 1.5.1 update. I installed that and it seems to be working a lot better - not so jerky now although at one point "revenge" flashed for probably a micro second? Not much time to get the 8x :-)
Still think there's room for improvement, but the game is playable again now, so I'm happy for the time being. Can only dream of it being as fast as the NIN version though (props to tapulous - I'm really enjoying that version!!)
I’m happier, but dreaming of the future
