"unknown server error" in Twinkle
I am really looking forward to checking out Twinkle, but I always get "unknown server error" among other problems : (
20
people have this problem
I have this problem, too!
Tell me when someone solves it.
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.

MMC, have you been able to get twinkle working at all? so far I have not had any luck. I'm on a 3G. -
Inappropriate?I have this problem too. I have posted an error report too.
I get it when trying to send tweets.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I've used Twinkle on the 1G iphone and worked every single time. The new twinkle is a dissapointment. I hoped i could use it instead of the slow twitterffic :S
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?guys lets chill out a little bit this app only came out yesterday for the iPhone and i am sure there are a zillion people trying to do exactly what we are trying to do. the servers are probably taking a huge hit right now. be patient.
-
Inappropriate?earlier today it was working fine. But then it started not "locating" me or finding "nearby" people.
I get this with Loopt as well.
To me it seems that the Location Apps and iphone 2.0 don't get along. I get more accurate location with Maps with EDGE then 3G. -
Inappropriate?earlier topics have replies from employees saying its s erver issue and they are working on it.
-
Thank you. I had not seen these earlier topics. I imagine they'll get it sorted out : ) -
Inappropriate?Well, the point is, that we do not only have to live with the twitter outages, but also with the tapulous outages. And as far as we saw earlier today, bot are not in sync after the recovery. So while Twitter is down, you can post in Twinkle. When Twitter is back, Twinkle won't sync your written "pings" with Twitter. The same should happen now, the other way around.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?i get a login error every time i try and enter my twitter name + password.
what the heck?
I’m glad i didn't pay for this app
-
Try logging out and in again on Twitter.com, note that it's case sensetive. Also try restarting (hold the top button to shut down and wait for about a minute). -
Inappropriate?I get this error when I try to post a tweat with a picture attached while on the Edge network, but only sometimes.
-
Basically it's too big for edge to cope with at the time, so it times out... Just try again or use a different network type. -
Inappropriate?I get this problem a lot with pic attachments even though I'm on wifi. It doesn't happen every time but it does happen more times than I would like
-
Inappropriate?I get this problem quite a bit too, I sometimes have to click the send button several times. It is normally OK though, if I click the home button and then re-open Twinkle.
-
Inappropriate?I apologize for our occasionally overloaded servers.
For the times when our servers aren't down -- does it give you this problem only on certain networks? (Edge, 3G, wifi) Also, have you noticed any other consistencies when you get these errors?
I've found that reinstalling Twinkle helps in some cases - let us know if that works. -
Ed, I just reinstalled Twinkle, I have 2.2 firmware. My problem is like Whitney's (below) - when I'm on Edge and I post a picture, I get this "unknown server error." This happens every time. 3G seems to work fine, as well as WiFi... but my problem is that I'm on Edge the majority of the time. Very frustrating, as I've seen 2 updates come and this problem hasn't been fixed in either one. But this app is so great - much better than Twitterific, in my opinion! -
I can confirm the same problem when using Edge -
Thanks guys. It seems like it may be timing out while trying to send it over edge. -
Inappropriate?I almost always get the error when posting a tweet with a picture attached when I'm on Edge.
-
Inappropriate?I get this problem too. Fine with wifi but when I try and use EDGE I get the error. It doesn't seem to take too long for the error to come up either so not sure it's timing out.
I recently had a similar issue with Evernote and the problem was something to do with the way my network "zip" packets or something like that so for the records here is the network I am on:

Oh interesting... Thanks
