I had tap gap in my iPhone and then I made the change to the motorola Droid. I absolutely think the Droid is a better phone overall and I wouldn't trade it back for the iphone. The only thing I feel I am missing is tap tap revenge. Please bring it to android. I have absolutely no plans of ever switching back to the iPhone so I am afraid I would have to give up my addiction. Please don't let this be the case. -
Seriously guys.... i Dont know how you could get more demand without people writing you letters and protesting outside your headquarters.
PORT IT ALREADY SO WE CAN GIVE YOU OUR MONEY -

Inappropriate?Hmm.. A group of rockstar Mac OS X platform developers working on a Google Android Java application... Stranger things may have happened =P
I’m amused
-
ew Java -
Hahahahahahahahaha! Lol at zach's responce -
Eh, Java's improved a lot on the mobile workspace. It's not the language that matters that much, it's the API's -

Inappropriate?I'd love to see TR on Android. Android is new but very much up and coming - it would benefit your product to make it for iPhone and Android both. Kind of have to these days
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate? My friend with an iPhone who doesn't even like rhythm games is always playing this. It is a great app and NEEDS to be on Android before the GH app comes along. It sounds like they have a pretty good idea of how to keep the game fresh and putting it on Android would only increase the hype already surrounding it.
I’m confident
-
I agree
They will come out with one soon -
Inappropriate? You guys all have the G1? How do you like it?
-
I really like it. Had a couple of build quality issue but I really like Android and the phone software and hardware.
Btw it XtremeKh from earlier -
I've had my G1 for a few weeks now, and I love it. Push Gmail and tactile keyboard are great. The Android Market is growing fast, and there are already many amazing apps.
The Android platform would make things like tapping to any MP3 a possibility - I'd love to see this in TTR! -
Interesting... Very interesting... -
that'd be awesome -
Inappropriate?I love my G1. I love the way it instantly syncs all of my email and calendars. It doesn't matter if I add events or contacts on the computer or the phone. I know it will be there. Battery life could be a little better, but the android OS is super solid, and has a lot of potential since it is open source.
-
Yea I agree - the MobileMe contacts/calendar sync features are some of my fav on the iPhone... -
Yeah, color coding of shared calendars is nice too.
The battery *usually* gets me through the day, and I charge every night, so it's not a big issue for me - it could definitely be better though. -
Inappropriate? Here's another user who'd LOVE To have tap tap revenge on the Android....
Happy Holidays! -
Inappropriate?I'm desperate for it, a few of my friends are playing on their iTouch's while I'm playing Trap, which gets old. I WANT Tap Tap!
I’m exciteed
-
Thanks for letting us know :) -
Inappropriate?"The Android platform would make things like tapping to any MP3 a possibility - I'd love to see this in TTR! "
Mmmmm, That would be good for those Android users, but would be highly unfair and a smack in the face for those iPhone & iTouch fans that swear by Tapulous products as been the best.
Let's not forget that Tapulous has it's (hopefully) primary platform. Also by introducing other platforms to their "develop for" list, isn't that going to significantly hinder updates, and future development as there would be 2 platforms to release for.
It would be unfair to release a new version for one let's say, and the other would have to wait considerably longer because of programming.
I also think that by porting to android and allowing tapping to any MP3 would cause a hell of a lot of iPhone/iTouch users to become extremely annoyed.
This is a feature that we would like very much, but at the moment (unless ed and the guys have found a way to do it with OS 3) it isn't possible.
To have this feature on one platform and not the other would be downright evil.
Now if they were to port it, they would certainly have to be exactly the same feature wise and would also not have to hurt current development/improvement speed.
If that can be assured then I say..... Hell, why not!
Let's not forget though, that while this would be an exciting move for Tapulous & Android users alike, at the moment there is still too many issues with the Apple platform version to be even thinking about porting.
I’m all heated up with this
-
Sorry, but this is an absurd argument. Hold back development on other platforms that have features uniquely suited to your app's needs just to avoid affending some fanboys? Not exactly a sound business model. If iPhone users are so upset about the limitations of their phone, they should complain to Apple or switch to Android. -
I agree with lungcookie. Apple's extreme limitations on their apps is the fault on why most apps are limited. If TTR ever got ported to Android, it would more than likely be better than the iPhone version and I think that just upsets some fanyboys. Also, I have TTR on my iPhone and I am having NO issues on mine. Perhaps you should look into that. -
If, someday, we decide to make Tap Tap for Android, we not forget about the iPhone OS. This is where we started and we love this space. It would be awesome if we could guarantee identical features and updates on both platforms - since it's not in the cards right now, I can't be sure how that'd work out. -
Just saw my awesome grammar.. "we not forget" lol.. -
I personally don't think Tapulous would go down the route of letting you tap to any MP3 you have. That was nice in the Tap Tap Revolution days, but Tap Tap Revenge is a money making method for Tapulous and Universal Music Group (and whoever else they might partner with), so implementing this feature would undermine that. -
That's really absurd. You'll get angry or whatever with a company because they have less limitations on a platform you don't own and thus, put other features? That's pretty idiotic. -
Inappropriate? If Tapulous actually ported TTR to Android, I'm sure it's gonna spur the platform competition between iPhone OS and Android even further. This is significant enough for Apple to take note, with TTR being one of Apple's best anchoring product and one of the first.
-
Inappropriate?I think TTR should indeed be ported onto the Android platform. The Android community is ever increasing as we see all the major cell phone makers starting to make Android phones. By not having this product on that platform you guys are missing out on a lot of profit opportunities. The success on the Iphone OS is huge, the success on Android will be just as significant! :D
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate? If a game of such quality and popularity is ported to android it will be extremely well received because most of the games are still mediocre. 3-D and "Big Company" games are starting to appear in the market, so it won't be as much of a hit later on. Port it early and it will be a sensation.
I’m telling you. Do it now :)
-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ6It6... -
But no cellphone capabilities? It's aaalmost awesome. -
10-point multitouch LOL that's so unnecessary! -
But a cell company can pick it up but their chips in it and brand it as theirs. That's what creative intends. I hope verizon does that. That be a better iPhone competitor than the Storm. And aaalmost awesome looks good enough for me. -
Omg the Storm is terrible... they need to do something... -
Fact: BlackBerrys suck. -
Yea...i hate my storm. But I have gotten up to normal text speed as anybody else. And RIM is coming out with the odin aka Storm 2 in september I think. Main feature: NO CLICK SCREEN (maybe if it's not bad and multi-touch you could port tap tap over to it. And the ZuneHD if possible. This could be a great year for tap tap to get even bigger) -
What's "click screen"? -
The Storm has a "clickable touchscreen". But that idea was horrible so they got rid of it. -
WTF is a clickable touchscreen!? x] -
just look at some videos on youtube. -
The clickable screen idea isn't bad, but the Storm really sucks... Maybe with the Blackberry OS 5.0 in the storm 2, would be possible to bring tap tap revenge 2 for the BlackBerrys, but i don't believe in this possibility... -
Yea that's redicamubottamus... -
Yea that's redicamubottamus... -
Me too... LOL -
Inappropriate?I would absolutely love this Game on my HTC Hero and since it supports multitouch it would be fantastc and I would fucking cry to play it on my phone!!!
-
Inappropriate?'Decrem says the company will eventually explore other mobile platforms, as well, potentially starting with Google's Android'
seems like it could be soon

I’m excited even though i don't have an android phone
-
Inappropriate?I'd really love to have TTR in my HTC Hero. Please don't make as wait for so long :(
-
Inappropriate?Would also LOVE to play Tap Tap Revenge on Android... The current Guitar hero is unbelievably bad......
-

Inappropriate?TTR ON DROID NO!!!!!!
-
Inappropriate?Ed will u give us an update on the status of this post
-
Inappropriate?iphone exclusive !
-
Inappropriate?yes there is a high demand
-
Inappropriate? All I know is that in my opinion, the worst thing about the android phones so far is their lack of good games in the market. Period. I get better games off of Gameloft, than from the Android Market, and even those games aren't the greatest. I just don't think it's living up to it's capabilities as a phone. I say it can probly do anything a damn Iphone can do at this point so why hasn't Android done it? Everything else about these phones kicks ass though. Love it totally. Oh yeah, and also I came on here in the first place because I was hoping I could get that tp game for android and of course I can't. I swear everytime I see a good game I want it ends up not being for Android..C'mon Android help me out here guys....
I’m Tripped out on the Android company..
-
That is not androids fault. The developers of the games have to port them to android. The android market is growing with the recent addition of all these new smartphones coming out. I have a feeling android will have all the games iphone does as soon as android gets. More common. -

Inappropriate?True that I guess. I'm just saying. Like, everyday I go on the internet to see what kind of new games I could maybe get for android and I'm just waiting for that day they start coming out with all the good stuff, because with the graphic capabilities of the phone, I think there would be some fun ass games straight up. Not to mention android would make some bank off of all the people just like me who have been waiting for it to happen. Just saying.
-
I agree completly! I can't wait! -
I agree completly! I can't wait! -
Inappropriate?Almost a year later and still no TTR, no word expect the initial maybe if there is demand. Well I would say 111 replys and 70 participations later that there is at least some demand and if it was released I would bet even higher. That being said though.. I doubt it's coming to android anytime soon or at all. But hey guess who missed out on setting an app like this on the android market first? You guys. There is a substitute that's very similar and kind of a nice twist, as well as open source. Here is a link http://code.google.com/p/tapsoffire/ the game is called taps of fire.
I’m indifferent

Yup, I'm done waiting. I just tried out "Taps of Fire" and it's pretty fun. And free! And open source!
I'm sold. :) -
Inappropriate?I'm gonna call in the troops.
ALOT of people want Tap Tap for their Android it's just that this site is so hard to find.
But it seems like it's a good way to contact tapulous so I'm gonna try to get as much people to find this and get their vote in. Especially cus you don't need to sign up and can already vote if you have a gmail or facebook, I think I can get some more people.
I’m I want tapulous to expand to android. Their missing a great oppurtunity!!

ive created this facebook group, about 13 people have already joined, we need more people to join -

Come on Tapulous, Android needs TTR!!!!!!!!! -
Inappropriate?Bring it on.
-
Inappropriate?I just got my Droid and I love it. This app would be great! Any new word on development?
-
How many is enough?? I am trying every day for people to realize this web page even exists so they can come and be heard!!
Trust me though Andrew if your the employee to pitch this idea to the big dog their and it goes through. This game would sell TONS and you would then be the big dog :P Think about the possibilities.... -
WHAT DO U MEAN NOT ENOUGH...PLEASE BRING TTR TO ANDROID!! -
Inappropriate? Please port all your games over to Android.. I have been waiting for an amazing game like this to come out for my Droid. Nobody has taken advantage of the AMAZING resolution on the Droid yet!
I hope to see TTR on Android phones soon! =D
I’m encouraging
-
Inappropriate? Please port TTR over to the android. It's the game I miss the most after switching away from the iPod.
I’m Hopeful
-
Inappropriate?Well seriously Tapulous.
You are already producing a very popular game for Iphones and Itouchs.
Why not expand this to Android? It will boom in sales and downloads. You have nothing to lose. Porting to Symbian/Web OS; that's where you'll lose your money.
Trust me, I have friends and family who want to buy a phone, and immediately think of an iPhone as they can play TTR.
Im 100% serious. If this comes to Android, they will look at my phone and ask, "Can it play TTR", and i'll say yes of course. Thats more sales for you.
Once this hits the market (Im hoping it will), I can guarantee you will get THOUSANDS of sales within a short period of time.
It's whether or not you will make the effort to port this awesome game.
I’m hoping for TTR.
-
There sure is.
The new HTC Android Line of Phones are arriving, along with the Google Nexus. Android Users like myself are craving an addictive game like TTR. I will happily pay for this app any day.
It's whether or not you're committed. Porting to WebOS/Symbian will lose you money, Android on the other hand is the money maker :D.
Just make sure you get this to Android a.s.a.p, or others like Gameloft will take over.
By the way there is a Facebook Group regarding this which will add more interest.
Hope to hear how many people you need before you start.
Thanks for listening. -
Inappropriate? You guys do realize that tap tap on the droid can't happen cuz it had no multitouch right??
I’m unsure
-
There is multitouch on the Droid. If you have a droid go to the Market and you can download plenty of stuff with multitouch. The Dolphin Browser has pinch zoom. Their is multiplayer pong were both you and a friend can control a paddle at the same time. -
That an app mod thoh. If tapulous is Gona add A game on android. But on the droid? It can't work. It really needs a multitouch screen like idevices have -
It is not just an app mod. The droid has the exact same screen sensors as idevises. They just haven't put multitouch on yet, butit is coming onn the next update. You can't just mod a screen to multitouch. It takes hardware. -

Thank you stev. But I had already typed my below response to Roberto so I'm just gonna leave it their for him to read too lol.
The Motorola Droid has the ABILITY TO HAVE MULTITOUCH APPS. That means that if a software runs a multitouch app on it IT WILL WORK.
The Multitouch comes from the hardware of the device and The Droid's hardware can support multitouch.
The only reason why the Droid doesn't show multitouch on their main apps that come with the device is cus Apple can sue them in the USA. If you go to Europe The Milestone (aka The Droid) has pitch zoom with everything and publicly displays multitouch cus I don't think Apple can touch them their. -
Android 2.1 is supposed to have multitouxh -
Ok ok. But still I know the droid always had a software to run a multitouch SCREEN! the droid has a reguler touch screen. You can tell cuz my friend has it and he can type with his nails. Putting it on droid can happen if it had a real multouch screen. The g1 the click and my touch has a mutitouch screen I think. It culd work on those much easy to put ttr on -
Roberto, you are missing the point.
The Android OS has the ability of having multitouch apps since version 1.6. The hardware (the screen) of the Motorola Droid (aka Motorola Milestone outside the US) also is capable of multitouch, fact proved by the existence of multitouch apps such as Dolphin browser, which works WITH pinch and zoom on the Droid.
The only thing without multitouch on the Droid are the apps, such as the browser and Google Maps, and that is only on the US version. The same apps outside the US have multitouch enabled, which makes its absence on the Droid probably a matter of intellectual rights, not of physical or logical capabilities of the device.
This means that, should Tapulous decide to make Tap-Tap for Android, it would work with multitouch on any device featuring Android 1.6 (Donut) or later.
Is it clear now? -
OHHH OK! I get it lol I saw a revew of the droid that's said it had no multouch. I knew the android OS is more than capeable of doing it but lack of the multouch culd hurt app developors like tapulous. Lol -

see the change log -
Inappropriate?Finally.
Now that it's all clear, it's up to Tapulous whether they want to make an effort.
Please Read This Tapulous!: The sooner you get into the Android market, the longer your games will be exclusive. Android is picking up. Face it. If you get in soon, other developers will follow and some of the shine might be taken off games like TTR. Just my $0.2
-
Inappropriate?Extremely interested in seeing this available on the android market. the android platform is expanding faster then the iphone did in this early of its life...would certainly be the time to hitch a ride.
-
Inappropriate? Can anyone link me to the Facebook group? I would like to join it and share it with my friends who also have Android phones.

Inappropriate?played on the iphone... would LOVE it for my new motorola droid!
-
Inappropriate? It would be awesome to have TTR on Android =)
-
Inappropriate?Surely Ed and Andrew have enough people to develop?
79 at the time of writing.
79 x $2.00 (or even $3.00) for everyone on this page, then hundreds or thousands more sales from others who haven't found this page, I reckon there's a lot in it.
Not as much as the iDevices, but now that the Nexus is out, many people will be upgrading to Android from iPhones and therefore will be missing TTR.
....Please develop it :)
-
Inappropriate?Just got the Nexus One but well...no really good games actually...:( Come on Tapulous, it may be hundreds of comments on this page, but there are possibly thousands of people wanting this on their Android phones, I know you guys are probably tired of hearing this but just please consider porting Tap Tap to Android phones too.
-
Inappropriate? There is obviously a demand. This thread hasn't faded out since it was created. Now it's a year later and the employees aren't saying anything just yet. I'm sure there's reasons.
If it's an issue with the OS not having native multi-touch then Apple needs to stop assuming ownership of Multi-touch and pinch zoom. They threaten any manufacture that uses it in their products even thought you can't trademark or patent an idea. You can only patent a PROCESS. So if Android is using the same idea but going about it a different way, you'll see Multi-touch and pinch zoom in native Android OS.
Apple is holding back technological development by the restrictions they put not only on the developers of their apps, which make the iPhone the great phone that it is, but they also want to control their customers on how they go about using their phone. Look at the UI, there's no way to customize anything besides the wallpaper without a jailbreak.
It's a revolution. Join it.
Android. The ship has arrived.
I’m waiting for TTR on Android.
-
Inappropriate? My girlfriend and I would really like to see Tap Tap Revolution on the Android Platform. We both have Motorola Droids and my girlfriend was thinking of buying an iPod Touch just so that she could play it. PLEASE bring Tap Tap Revolution to Android devices. Thanks!
-
Inappropriate?Wouldn't Tapulous have to build it up from scratch on the Android? Seeing as the device is OpenSource while the iPhone's/iPod's are (Might be wrong) UNIX based?
It got a huge attention span on the Apples device, it would make a storm of profits on the Android, but I guess its completely up to the staff. Interested on out this turns out. :)
I’m feeling that it wouldn't be a bad idea!
-
I don't think its gonna happen anymore this post is a year old and still no reply I am fustrated none of the good developers wanna develop for android but they would do it for iphones os in a second I'm PISSED WHERE IS TAPP TAPP ANDROUD HAS BEEN OUT FOR LONGER THAN A YEAR. -

Inappropriate? If people are downloading stupid games like jeweled and stuff over 250,000 times just imagine how many downloads TTR will have. I wouldnt mind paying for it either its a great game. Best game ive played on a phone.
-
Inappropriate?Android is overtaking the mobile operating system market.
It'd be a wise move to port, or even create from scratch, a Tap Tap Revolution for the Android. -
Inappropriate?YES!!
-
Inappropriate?I can't wait to have this for my Android...my daughter has it on her iphone and it's addictive
-
Inappropriate?I feel like there's pretty big demand here.

Inappropriate?http://musically.com/blog/2010/01/24/...
Hopefully this news is true! Android will most likely be the first platform that TTR is ported to.. considering it's pretty much the only other platform that is worth porting.
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?I'm pretty sure there's alot of demand for TTR, sooo we're anxiously and impatiently waiting......
-
Inappropriate? How do you know what the demand is when you don't even bother to do it? Did you know there was a demand when you made it for the iPhone? Probably not. It became popular. You think that wouldn't hold true for the Android world? I think there is more to the apps world than iPhone land.
I think android community is very devoted and loyal to developers who show that they are willing to port and make high quality games. The growth is there. They have a following within the community. Both sides get to benefit from it.
I’m annoyed.

Inappropriate?I would love to see it. It is one of the very few Iphone apps that I want more than any other. As a _insert carrier here_ employee, I would personally recommend it to anyone getting an android phone.

Inappropriate? When the iPod Touch 1st gen was released, i bought one and then TTR was there.. since this release it's the only real game I've ever played on my iTouch (other games aren't funny compared to TTR, really !). Then, I sold my iTouch (I was in need of money at this moment). Now, please port it to Android, you're sure to have a lot of success like the success you have on iTouch/iPhone !
-
Inappropriate?please, port TTR to Android!

Inappropriate?Everybody: forget these guys, go and get "Taps of Fire".
http://code.google.com/p/tapsoffire/
It's free, it's fun, and you can play all of the actual Guitar Hero tracks on it. Download them from the internets. -
Taps of fire sucks. Takes forever to download and will fuck up your phone. -
Inappropriate?Come on.....
There IS demand for it, tons of sites have threads asking for it, this has people asking for it, hell, theres even a facebook group for it!
So you can go ahead and tell us your not going to port it, because as of now, it doesn't seem like theres an interest at all.
Thanks
I’m dissapointed in Tapulous
