Can't remove account from device (due to weird username?)

Hi, my friend gave me a Touch as a wedding gift, and I'm trying to remove his account info from Twinkle. When I send the request email to myself, I get it, but his username is **oyd, and I think the url doesn't get generated or read correctly.

(The actual username has open on the right angle brackets where I put the asterisks)

Can you remove that account for me from my device, or is there something I can do?
