File system problems - guaranteed.
I've mentioned this in the past wrt TTR2 & it appears the problem is still present in TTR3. After downloading all of the free music in Medium, Hard, & Extreme, TTR3 is a mess to play. I get LOTS of dropped taps (usually side-by-side doubles) & sticky arrows. Rebooting doesn't help & neither does Restoring from Backup.
This is the same issue I experienced in TTR2 but could work around by Restoring from a Backup. Problems would still creep up, but a reboot would usually solve those. Sometimes even the first game after a reboot would be messed up, so another reboot was necessary to fix it. Frustrating, but at least it could be made playable.
I also noticed that if I Delete & re-download an individual problem song, it plays fine the first time, but quickly degrades in subsequent plays.
I'm not sure if/how Apple OS caches files, but something is messing up the streaming of data from files. Perhaps it has something to do with accessing both files simultaneously with one (music file) also being decoded?
Maybe try reading the entire tap file into a local data structure before starting play!
