Friend Book status update
Hi folks, we updated our web site this week. as part of that, we are updating the apps pages, and we have taken the Friend Book page down for now.
Rest assured: we have not given up on the app. Mike's departure has slowed us down a bit, since he did the initial work on the app. However, a new developer is now working on the app, and we hope to get it into the App Store over the next month or so.

Inappropriate?ah....Jason. I see by your post, "I'll just keep using the old FriendBook.." Is there anyway you could put your app. out there for some of us less 'Fortunate' could use the app. for the first time. Gee....I realy feel sorry for you....having that OLD Friendbook to put up with.

Well, the old Friendbook has Handshaking disabled, and doesn't work properly with the 2.1 update. Heck, it didn't work properly BEFORE the 2.1 update. I primarily used it for Face Dialing, but every day or so the polaroids just go completely blank - if effect clearing out the "faces" from the "dialing", making it useless. And since Apple cleaned up the speed of the Contacts app, Friendbook is now SIGNIFICANTLY slower than it, whereas before 2.1 it was the faster alternative.
I hardly use the old Friendbook anymore because it's slow and glitchy, but I keep it around for novelty. -
Inappropriate?It's been about 2 months now and i believe that hopefully you guys have been working day in and day out, but because the original guy who made this app from what i know was sacked, i don't think it is coming back. But i never got to use it and it looks amazing from what i can remember from the site you used to have up...

Inappropriate?sorry, but how long can it possible take to fix a few errors? i'm a developer myself and i couldn't imagine getting this right in more than about a week, and i never touched iphone development before....

We do appreciate this new transparency amidst of all the changes happening at Tapulous. However, I'll also have to say that its been a long time since you guys we're supposed to be working on "fixing" the app. And we heard this several times here. So unless you guys tore down the app and built it from the ground up again three times, we wonder what is the holdup on releasing the app even with reduced functionality as many suggested (an alternative I also support). I have to join in sentiment with other users about the frustration. While Tap Tap Revenge is great and I use Twinkle, FriendBook is what I lust for...

So looking though the App Store I found another app that looked like it would do the same thing...group my contacts.
If any of you out there go looking for a substitute like I am, don't get the app
"Contact Grouper" It's a rip-off.
You make all the groups you want, then attach your contact to the group. And all you have at the end, is the name.........."John Doe family".
Your contacts are the same, just with an added attachment.
I know John Doe is my family, I put him there. I want John Doe in a Group named....Family, with the others of my family so I have all my contacts in groups. Why is this so hard for you programers to understand.
Ok, I will be pacient and wait for you to finnish "Friend Book". And if you need some incentive....I paid 99cents for the worthless app, just to delete it after finding it did not do anything.
